AMD Ryzen 7 2700X and Ryzen 5 2600X Overclock to 5.88 GHz

You do know that in history, Sparta was actually a pretty backwards nation with a history of slavery, abuse and what would now be known as human rights violations? While Persia was a fairly modern nation in terms of how it handled pretty much everything?

Beyond that, yes, we know Intel is strong at single thread, but increasingly more and more things are getting multi-threaded. This is the way forward. I'd take a slightly slower single thread result for a better multi-thread result (thus the rig in my sig. When I bought it it was not the best single thread, but shed loads better multi-thread).

meh, I am just being silly anyway, y'all shouldn't take life so seriously

AMD clocks high under LN2, oh no, better throw shit like apes, we can't have competition.......

Some people here are acting like someone stole their candy. Or is it that it didn't clock higher in this every day solution.......

Or peed on their rig Lol. No company guarantees how high their parts overclock, that's what made it so special then, but now it is so mainstream everyone expects parts to do this and that it gets boring now. I'd rather have stability in a part than run it till it pops lol, that goes for both camps.

Miss the Skt A Days, even wouldnt mind goin back to dipswitch OC

I wouldn't mind, either.
I remember when 1GHz was fast!! I had a 2600+mobile chip, on air, stable at 1.8 GHz. Topped out around 2.2 and would rock XP for about 2 hours! LOL.

Its funny how a soldered Ryzen is temperature limited at such a low frequency.

Funny is so much hate towards an underdog that miraculously delivered competitive products and re-shaped the market.
Oh wait, that's more of a tragic, than funny...

but probably still beats it in cinebench single score! LOL
For some puzzling reason reasons more cores do not help in single core scores.

I started messing about with PC's about the Duron 650 days and it was amazing fun! :) I still have my XP-M 2500, it'll run quite happily at 2.4Ghz and I think under water with 2.3vcore, it was hitting just shy of 3Ghz :D Gotta love AMD, I just wish they had been more competitive during the Core Duo days...

But I think I'm definitely going to have to buy one of the 2700's for my daughter.. It's just too nice to turn away!!

Well shit, I'm gonna run right out and buy a LN2 setup just to run Minecraft!

its nice to know that AMD chips seem to do better with more quality cooling.

Don't all chips do that?
What's nice to know is how much better they can do with better cooling.

I'll let ya know my reply when those cooling results come out :D:p

I can't edit my post above, but what do you know? Anandtech says the same thing I did, the same day I did (though I've said it before, too): https://www.anandtech.com/show/12542/overclocking-the-amd-ryzen-apus-guide-results
You're right, I know nothing. I am saying there are cheap-o coolers and there are better quality coolers and AMD does better with better quality cooling, you get what you pay for. I'm not saying AMD is better than Intel, if thats what you are implying. how can you read my original statement anyway else?

Oh, that wasn't directed at you at all. I wanted to add that as an edit to my post from yesterday (#8), but I can't edit that anymore.

I think you misread my comment. It was aimed mostly at the idiots who scream 'delid everything Intel because the TIM is crap, they are cheap give me solder'.

Its funny how your red tinted glasses see everything as a stab @ AMD...
