How about a Great look into the past? This old but very stylish design became a project for a group of 5 young men in the great battle of creating the coolest computer chassi in our class, and not only did they succeed, they where the first ones finished, I was one of those men, one of the fighters for humanity and pride, our weapon of choice was a scary workshop and some outrageous tools.

Nice.

I saw one where they made the giant controller, but instead of housing a PC, they used the buttons to play a nintendo game.

Though I'm not gonna lie, its just a box with computer components, and a nintendo label on top :p

Nice man, but what are the specs on it?

Ill vote once I find out :).

like the case, bad airflow

cool Case bit to big and to bad when you want to watch dvds or install a game no dvd drives and only one hard drive holder, big case crap all in it

Usually, novelty and show cases don't tend to have decent parts inside, unless from the start, the case was built to house a usable computer, or unless the person hasn't the money to build a custom case AND a great PC.
I don't think I'd give a damn about watching DVDs with one of those in my front room as a HTPC hung on the wall behind my TV. Definately would be interesting to gauge reactions for one thing.

EDIT: OH, and if you want to see more of it, you may as well follow through the damned link. No system specs, but like I said, it's mostly a show PC.

will you just think they would add those things in when they were building it, i would of

I voted 10/10 because:

Origional, and cool! Just need some more serious hardware in there now...

This is really a love it or hate it design, and I love it!!

Hey, thx for the response. Some somebody sad, this is a showcase. So there really is'nt some cool hardware in it. It's just som shit thats makes it run. Naming it is wortlesh, but something like DELL motherboard with 1Ghz, 256Mb ram, and a 40Gb hardrive. And the airflow may not be the best. But it's quite good, about 30c in the case.

The goal of the hardware in this box was that it should be able to show a nintendo emulator on the presentetation. And it did, so the project goal is meet:)

As sad in the main description, the goal was to build the coolest computer case in our class, not the best case for a computer to live in.

I voted 8/10 because:

good idea! does it work?

Like the case. Insides are what they are. Like you said all it needed to do was function. A fairly adept being...could, with a hole saw, a drill, dremel and file, cram that thing full of goodies!! Nicely done. 8/10( Retracted this vote)

I voted 5 because the case is just too big, sry, it's a nice idea and all, but the case just looks way to big!

Cases should be rated irregardless of specs.

This gallery is not to show off ZOMG LEET KOOL X ONE ELEVENTY BILLION RADEON

Its here to show skill in craftsmanship and artistic touches to a case.

Specs should be take in light consideration... like if its a celeron 400 in a high end window added lian-li.. but you should never deduct a significant portion because of a lower end system.

I voted 10/10 because:

looked at the link and saw what went into making this case and decided it deserved more than the original 8/10 I had previously voted.

I voted 10/10 because:

Look at it...IT'S A TEN!!!

grill the red buttons and add fans =P

I lol'ed

Anyway back to rating, you must have put a lot of time and effort into getting that to the right scale, 10/10....

On the buttons i would use almost opaque mesh and add fans to them for intake, would improve cooling performance by a substantial amount. Try to get a water cooling kit and a high end system in it too :D

wonderfull, and the result is also great, maximized scale :P
såg den på sweclockers ;) fyy va snyggt!!! 10/10!!!

Old school - DIG IT!!

A neat idea would be to put a small projector in it pointing out of the box, looks like there is enough room. The "Mobile Controller"

that looks brilliant, very original :)

Give ya 10 to offset that 1!

Cool idea! I like it

Oh the irony...

"That Nintendo runs on Microsoft!"

KennyT772: Actually not, It runs Kubuntu=). And of course it have a NES emulator to..

The idea to build in a projector in this box would be very cool i think. The box is very big to be just a computer case. (we had some goals and hardware given by the teacher and therefore the case is not 100% what it had been if we had a bigger budget and the opportunity to choose our hardware itself and project goals) Anyway, to do the best of the case it would be a very good idea,, and cool. But i'm think that is rather impossiblon now.. But hey, yall never now=)

News:

I'm planning to do a new project. (pics will come when it's started ofc.) The project of that is to build a webbserver in a NES game caset. I have already buy'd some hardware stuff like NSLU2 and a memory stick... 2Gb i think it was=)..

Thanks for the comments=)
