Samsung Introduces 970 EVO, PRO SSDs at Lower Pricing Than Previously Announced

HDD has never been able to reach 500MB threshold. I was talking about new HDD tech will finally allow HDD to go near or over that 500MB/s cap
No, but HDDs can do up to around 250MB/s which isn't that much slower than SSDs. And they couldn't possibly go over 500MB/s for the same reason SATA SSDs can't: the interface+protocol don't allow it.

What kind of HDDs? If you mean server-grade stuff, I wouldn't really take that into consideration. We're regular humans here :)

Intel optane memory sounds interesting

Yeah, it's pretty badass, but it needs quite a few more iteration before it irons out its kinks.

If you have a .edu email address, sign up at Unidays, and you can get the 970 EVO with far cry 5 1tb version for $339 shipped at samsungs website, but you have to login through samsung through Unidays .edu account.

I just ordered my 970 Evo 1tb, heck of a deal, as long as I can sell the far cry for like 25 bucks, will be nice indeed.

trying to sell my 960 evo 1tb now that was manufactured in jan 2018, will take a big hit on that, but oh well, PC gaming is my main and only hobby outside of reading books and netflix and biking/nature stuff. so i am fine with taking the losses.
