Linksys Ships New High-Performance WRT32XB Gaming Router

Linksys, celebrating thirty years of networking and WiFi innovation for the home and business this year, today announced the availability of the newest addition to the WRT product series - the Linksys Gaming Router designed for Xbox One - WRT32XB, the first and only router in Microsoft's Designed for Xbox accessory program. The new WRT Gaming Router provides users a powerful new tool to optimize for high-speed gaming and video streaming when using Xbox One. It's ARM, but one of the more potent Marvell based ones. It can easily do up to a gigabit line without any kind of acceleration, implements a SATA port and USB3, etc. Inside consumerland, there really isn't anything better.

I own it's little brother (WRT1900ACS), running DD-WRT. So no backdoors.

Router only has one job and that's routing packets. What does routing packets have to do with SATA and USB3? Nothing. I rest my case.

In consumer space they are often used as makeshift NASes. Plus the USB can be used as a backup line. I have a cellular modem tethered to mine.

Regardless, it's more than suitable for routing packets.

Never had any trouble, but mine is hooked up to a cellular phone/modem, not a usb drive so quite possible.

Most are. Most don't clock that high either. I as of yet have been unable to overwhelm mine on my gigabit line, but granted, it's just doing gateway and failover switching duty.

The Marvell MVEBU line is pretty much the only ARM line of processors for routers worth a second glance. But it's not all roses. They run hot as hell for what they are.
