Battlefield V System Requirements Revealed

EA has revealed the preliminary minimum system requirements for their upcoming Battlefield V game, which is set to launch in October 19 of this year. According to Battlefield V's Origin page, the game demands an Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD FX-6350 processor as a minimum along with 8 GB of memory. In terms of graphics power, EA is recommending a graphics card that's compatible with DirectX 11. That basically translates to a GeForce GTX 660 2 GB for NVIDIA owners and a Radeon HD 7850 2 GB for AMD owners. Battlefield V will work fine on Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 as long as they are 64-bit versions. Regarding storage, the game occupies around 50 GB of hard drive space. For fluid online gameplay, a 512 Kbps or higher broadband internet connection is highly recommended. The release of Battlefield V is still pretty far off, so these system requirements could change over time.

They also sell premium version who are in diferent curencie not euro becouse sony dont support our countrie. But from experience that i get in battlefield K/D 1/30 Better not to look on it. Or they mix pc users whit ps4 users in one room.

Did no one realize these are the exact same system requirements as Battlefield 1? This probably signifies that there are no major changes to the engine , BF1 ran fine on my overclcoekd 6300 at 60fps.

BF1 ran at 40fps on an A4-4000 (in DX12), why are CPU requirements so bonkers? A Celeron can play it.

You sure it wasn't your GPU? I played BF4 just fine on my i5 Ivy Bridge and my i7 2600k just fine and the later didn't even get 50% CPU usage in online BF4 with maxed out servers of 60 something people.

According to Techspot, BF4 isn't even that CPU intensive as a measley Athlon II x4, which is weaker than a decade old Core2Quad, gets 88 fps.

Granted, that's probably single player/benchmarks, but I doubt multiplayer could be so much worse as to cut the fps in half since single player doesn't need a powerful cpu...

Yeh, a few months ago, I was helping someone out with games he could run on an old computer. His near decade old Core2Quad Q9500 could run Battlefield 1 just fine with a decent GPU. The folks making EA's system requirements list is either lazy, or ignorant/incompetent in understanding computer hardware.

Well, if they thread the game right, an FX CPU would do fine. If they make use of the massive FPU power of the FX CPU (4x256bit FPU units which can be sub-divided into 8x 128bit units if the programmer codes for it)..

Its much like RPM. Which is kinda funny to see Bulldozer tech on the GPU side of things with RPM.

i would say least an i5 from those gen's maybe even even back first gen i7's have power to match that 6350

on workstation 2400 it won't even get above 50% and temperature 30 Celsius. system requirements always are wrong.

what you say? since BF4 this games uses up to 6 threads, FX-6350 performance can Match the i7 performance in this series of games because scalling, i remenber the FX6300 pairing i7 3770K performance, BF is well optimized

that´s the problem, developers does´nt optimize, AMD FX for AVX/FMA3/4 runs well but we still programming @2008 codes lol = 0 optimization, at least this series of games uses up to 6 threads, and that is great, i played BF1 on my R7 260X + FX6300 and later on FX8320E and runnned so well even at 1080p, i played Resident Evil 7 too at 1080p up to 50FPS +/- adjusting some settings, not much Quality lost

As a long time BF player I advise people to not use i5 cpu's for this game. If you check out the BF1 pc forums you'll see hundreds of posts with 100% cpu usage and resulting lag problems using i5's.
Now I'm not saying you can't get em to run ok but BF1 and I guess BF5 ( seeing as they've listed the same minimum specs) are cpu intensive and love lots of threads.
Hell, BF1 even gives an advantage with high fps as your weapon damage is uploaded to the server from your client at your fps rate.
My old i7 2600k@4.8ghz handles everything BF1 can throw at it maxing out at around 75-80% usage so thread count is king for this game.
I'll wait and see how BFV plays on release but I'm budgeting for a new CPU/MB/ram (8700k or Ryzen 2600k)
