(Editor's Note: We grabbed some pictures of be quiet!'s Silent Base 601, 801, and Dark Base Pro 900 computer cases, which keep on impressing with the company's ability to develop the strong, silent type of computer cases.)

be quiet!, the market leader in PC power supplies in Germany for twelve consecutive years, is presenting its upcoming products at booth I0218 in the Nangang Exhibition Hall during Computex 2018 Taipei from June 5th to June 9th. The newest products include two new Silent Base PC cases, an update to the flagship Dark Base Pro 900 case, a dual tower Dark Rock Pro TR4 cooler designed for AMD's Threadripper processor, new Shadow Wings 2 silent fans, and accessorizing power supply cables.

Silent Base 601 and 801: Excellent silence and usability
Based on a metal chassis, the new Silent Base 601 and Silent Base 801 cases come in windowed and non-windowed versions available with different highlighting colors on each case's front panel. Angled intake air vents in the front support Silent Bases' near-quiet operation, along with highly-graded dampening materials with up to 10 millimeters thickness on the panels. Up to three preinstalled Pure Wings 2 140mm PWM fans efficiently ensure PC cooling, while a PSU shroud and HDD slot covers add a clean interior look. Out of the box, Silent Base 601 can take up to three HDDs or six SSDs, while the slightly larger Silent Base 801 supports up to five HDDs or eleven SSDs.

Compared to Silent Base 601, the bigger Silent Base 801 provides more space for cooling, storage and other hardware components, as well as a hub function for the fan controller to control connected 3-pin fans with just one incoming PWM signal. The strongest additional feature is the adjustable motherboard layout that allows inverted mounting. Silent Base 601 will be available in the third quarter of the year while Silent Base 801 will become available in the last.

Dark Base Pro 900 rev. 2: Staying ahead of the curve
be quiet!'s flagship PC case is updated to emphasize its pole position in the modular and silent full tower case segment. All original Dark Base Pro 900's key features are kept intact, including the highly versatile and invertible interior layout, three preinstalled Silent Wings 3 PWM fans, a noise reducing airflow concept, and compatibility with most high-end components on the market. The top and bottom of the large side panel window are painted black in the new version to hide screw holes underneath.

One new feature is the highly requested PSU shroud that hides cables and drives and is invertible along with the motherboard tray. The power supply cover also offers additional mounting options for an SSD, while the fan controller now supports up to eight PWM fans, offering both silent and performance modes, much like the Dark Base 700. To help customers strike a balance between silence and performance, Silent Wings 3 fan speeds are increased from 1,000 to 1,600 RPM. Also, Dark Base Pro 900 rev. 2's included LED strips are now 12V, improving compatibility with popular RGB LED ecosystems.

Finally, to top things off, the two front panel USB 2.0 connectors are replaced with a USB 3.1 Gen. 2 Type C connector and a quick charge port. Retail upgrade kits with the new PSU shroud, HDD slot covers, additional single HDD cages and the new window side panel will be available to users of the first version of Dark Base Pro 900. Accessories and the Dark Base Pro 900 rev. 2 will be available in July.

Dark Rock Pro TR4: Native dual tower cooler for AMD Threadripper
be quiet's Dark Rock Pro TR4 dual tower cooler, an offshoot of the flagship Dark Rock Pro 4, is now optimized for use with AMD's TR4 socket. A large copper base perfectly covers these enthusiast-level processors from AMD's Threadripper lineup. Two virtually inaudible Silent Wings PWM fans provide excellent silent cooling, even at maximum speed. The outer fan has a funnel shaped frame that helps increase air pressure, while seven copper heat pipes ensure efficient heat transfer from the cooler's base plate. For better RAM compatibility, cooling fins are cut for a better fit.

Heatsinks and heat pipes have a special black coating with ceramic particles, giving an aesthetically pleasing look while providing excellent heat dissipation. Like other products from the Dark Rock 4 series, Dark Rock Pro TR4 is conveniently mounted from the top. The cooler will be released in the last quarter of 2018.

Shadow Wings 2: The perfect fan for silence enthusiasts
The second-generation Shadow Wings fan is the most silent be quiet! fan in the company's portfolio, arming PC enthusiasts who strive towards absolute system silence. Shadow Wings 2's airflow-optimized fan blades and the high-grade rifle bearing ensure incredibly silent operation at a low maximum speed. Built with a rubberized fan frame and rubber pads in each corner, vibration and noise transfer to the chassis frame is kept at minimum. Installation is simplified thanks to a push-pin system. Shadow Wings 2 will be available with diameters of 120 and 140 millimeters, and a choice between PWM or 3-pin versions, from the fourth quarter of 2018.

PSU Power cables: Soon available in additional variants
15 different, individually sleeved, flexible cable options leave nothing left to desire. The range of products include cables for drives, P4/P8, PCI Express and an ATX main connector. These high-quality cables have been designed with elegant, opaque black single sleeves. Compatibility is guaranteed with all current be quiet! modular power supplies, including Power Zone, Dark Power Pro 10, Straight Power 10 or newer, Pure Power 9 or newer, and SFX L Power. The new Power Cables will be available in July.

I never considered BeQuiet in the past, but I've been using their fans for a year now and Silent Wings 3 are just amazing. I also have their top of the line Dark Power Pro PSU which uses same fan. Also amazing. They really fly under the radar until you try something from their product line and then it's hard to use anything else.

It's just strange they call Shadow Wings 2 the quietest fans when Silen Wings 3 are actually positioned higher and are technologically superior (FDB bearings and 6 pole motors compared to rifle bearings and 4 pole motors on Shadow Wings 2). Hm.

It's a pity they didn't carry over the angled I/O from the 900 series to the others.
It just makes so much more sense to me to have them on that angle, and it breaks up that just another box look.

It's good that Be Quiet have finally added USB 3.1 to the front panel of the Dark Base 900. It's on my list of contenders for future builds. Still I wish Be Quiet expanded the side intakes to increase the airflow.

The Dark Base 900 luckily support three intake fans in the front and one in the bottom. Most reviews I've read just tests the default configuration of two fans. Have any of you run across a good review testing thermals and acoustics of populating all of those fan slots?
