Seagate Introduces New 2TB Game Drive SSD - Exclusively for Xbox

Shouldn't a modern drive have USB-C rather than the clunky micro USB 3.0 connector?
Seagate always seems to be a step behind when it comes to technology outside of their spinning rust drives...

Well USB-C would be nice but there's no need for them to put in an expensive USB-C controller on the enclosure of drive when the other end of that cable plugs in to a USB-A, which is just USB 3.0. They are at least using USB 3.0 micro so that's fine.

Just buy a normal 2TB SSD and a cheap SATA 6Gb/s to USB 3.0 converter cable. Save a couple hundred bucks.

That connection appears to be a USB-B not Micro.
I've got a 500Gb drive with the same connector, I could paint it green and call it X-Box exclusive I suppose.

I guess selling to the idiots of the world works pretty damn well then. Honestly think any semi competent person would just strap an ssd into an enclosure and be off to the races, and those who really want to "tinker" (as much as you really can on XB1 at this point) would probably rip out the slow ass drive the box is built around and do a copy of the drive entirely to a new one (thinking fondly of dd in linux and probably overwriting the xbox drive accidentally)
