No, I just like looking at people going absolutely ape just because it's me typing whatever I type. It's amusing watching people meltdown over absurdities while they think I'm having a meltdown. It's absolutely beautiful.
Except it's always you who sounds like he/she is having a meltdown.

No, you are just generating spam AND are (hopefully unintentionally) trolling.

I don't think there are many people here who give a F about whether it's person A or B who post the same thing, and react differently.

....Don't care whats its called its sure to perform and people will buy it. ....its Nvdia....the evil geniuses that will get peoples money no matter what (Titian Z still have a fan club). Would be cool though if they do a 970 like release pricing that will get everyone to upgrade without much thought. They would also re-badge the over stock left over 10 seriers as a lower model 11 series though knowing them.

Tbh he has a point about better nomenclature that clearly defines what you're buying, we badly need this in the computing industry when model numbers are recycled like anything! Hey does anyone remember what gen of Core we're on?
Make no mistake, these numbers, suffixes and prefixes are picked by a specialized department. They are anything but random.
Their true meaning is to seem helpful, but at the same time confusing enough so that a seller can pitch to the uninformed a more expensive product than they need ;)
That's never going to change.

For bonus points, look at Intel's Xeon lineup and then try to put SKUs in (any) order.

Nvidia renamed desktop GPUs like twice in the past decade (8000->9000 and 400->500). AMD did it with every generation up until (and excluding) RX480.

FAKE FAKE FAKE!!!

Check the top of the box far end, they have blurred out 1080 probably because they could not get photo shopped 1180 to look good att that angle.

Zoom in top far end and you can clearly read text around but not where it should say 1180 because it is blurred out.

Still not as misleading as rebranding 480 as 580 and 290 as 390.
btw AMD did the same thing with rx560, but cut the cards after the initial reviews, and did it secretly. Tell me that wasn't intentional  Just like their fake launch msrp for vega to get better initial reviews. You know, the real shady stuff that adoretv doesn't mention on his channel.
Look im not doing your tit for tat bs ,i could mention many more Nvidia naming convention f ups then that not even counting rebrands which as you know is normal practice for both companies.

Next time pm me this boring same shit stuff yeah ,at least save the thread from it, i got my vega at MSRP day one buying with bitcoin not cash.

That's not shit compared to the Real shady shit you didn't watch you mean.

Let it go or can the shill in you not do that.

the msrp is supposed to be same as the 1080 ti launch price at 699$ US.

Same CUDA core count, similar memory bandwidth yet most report fewer ROPs.

performance tests between the two should be interesting. It would be really funny to build up all that hype just to launch it at the same performance level as the 1080 ti at the same msrp...

like "we heard you like the 1080 ti, so we launched a card that costs the same and performs the same with a slight internal configuration difference, ie it's cheaper for us to make..."

I remember the Xeons, that's why I put Intel (core) in there. The latest gen is horrendous, previously they had the E5 & E7 clearly defined. Intel takes their market segmentation too far, kinda like the dog & pony show with the 28 core 5GHz chip.

Ideally a previous gen part should not start like the current gen e.g. GT 710/730 with the 750(Ti) being Maxwell card. The laws allow it though & that's why companies get away with it, I could argue the same about phones but that's for another time.

If it was real it should have "16G" or "whatever G" on the side of the box. It's just this edited shot of 1080 strix. Even shadows are precisely the same.

You are very right, if you zoom in on the 1180 on the side, you can see a line in between the 1's and some image artifacting.

1500 USD is a lot of VND...like 34.4 million dong...that is a lot of dong >_<

On a more serious note: it looks to be a sidegrade OR near sidegrade for those with 1080 Ti/Titan X (Pascal)/Titan Xp. The high rollers are going to have to wait until 1Q OR even 1H of 2019 for their replacement cards. The picture is for hype reasons. Y'know the kind - placeholder picture(s) to generate hype, at minimal cost, since hype seems to maximize revenue now-a-days. Oh, and RGB anything.

Titan V is usually a lot faster than Titan Xp. And Titan V still has all those tensor cores with it. Cut those out, deactivate some shaders, up the clocks because the room you just made and all of a sudden it becomes rather hard to guess where the card will end up. Still, I'd say a sidegrade is a conservative estimate. At the same time, it will not obliterate the Titan V, out of respect for those who shelled out three grand to get one.
As usual, my curiosity lies with the mid-range cards, but those will come much later. Around Christmas if we're lucky; otherwise we're looking at Spring 2019.

I think TV is disappointing at stock settings, but once you remove the power limit and oc the memory, it flies past the TXp. Not worth the perf/price, but an absolute beast at 4K. The CEO edition must have absolutely insane perfromance considering it's got 128 ROPs and 4096-bit bus.

16GB of VRAM is overkill IMO. I play on 3440x1440 and max VRAM usage I had was 6GB on my 1080GTX.
more here:
https://www.tweaktown.com/tweakipedia/89/much-vram-need-1080p-1440p-4k/index.html

Also is it me or the CUDA cores count is pretty low, since it just matches the 1080Ti ??
I've seen 6-7GB in many games, Deus Ex MD even had my 1080 run out of vram when msaa 2x was enabled.

Images are likely placeholder.

This Vietnamese shop has actually accurately leaked other product launches before they happen by placing things on their store. So it's possible this is legit. But on the specs, I don't know. We'll see.

That's what I was thinking as well, there's no way a legit retailer will go to such lengths to fake product launches, without tacit approval from Nvidia or ASUS. Also wouldn't ASUS shut them off (completely?) if there wasn't any truth in this?

Stores do use fake images, that on its own doesnt point to it being a troll.

When I bought my 1080ti, the site I bought it from (Overclockers) had a comically bad page up. Of the 2 images shown at the time, 1 only shopped on one side, while the other was literally the 1080 without even a poor effort to shop any part of it. But I bought it the second it was available and they clearly threw those up as place holders.

No it doesn't. New actual models always jump major numbers. Which is GTX 1xxx and GTX 2xxx. With this logic, it should be called GTX 1090 and still make sense somehow as brand new GPU... Which is why I'm questioning this numbering decision if real.
The naming has been confirmed by lenovo and does make perfect sense nvidia wants to keep the gtx naming for a lifetime gtx 9000 in 10 years? Then become amd nahhhh 11 is good xD

Fake. Nvidia already used the GT104 as a Tesla product in 2012? They would not re use GT104 for Turning.

Man did someone step on your man parts or what @RejZoR WTH is it with you and anything Nvidia? If you hate it so much why not just smash your 1080Ti and buy a Vega? Problem solved!
