NZXT Announces H700 Nuka-Cola Limited Edition Fallout Themed Chassis

NZXT today announced a partnership with Bethesda Softworks, a ZeniMax Media company, to deliver the first officially licensed Fallout-themed computer case, the H700 Nuka-Cola. The H700 Nuka-Cola serves as the second entry in NZXT's new CRFT line of custom crafted limited edition gaming products.

Released in a limited quantity of 2,000, the custom designed variant of NZXT's popular H series, the H700 Nuka-Cola boasts beautiful design work inspired by the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout and its iconic Nuka-Cola soft drink. Alongside the H700 Nuka-Cola, NZXT also announced an optional Nuka-Cola all-metal cover for their N7 Z370 motherboard to complete the ultimate Fallout-themed build. The Nuka-Cola N7 all-metal cover will be limited to 400 pieces.

Based on the PUBG limited edition H700 at $199, this seems over-priced. The H700i Ninja is only $249 and it's an upgraded case.

True enough, as much as I like it, I wouldn't pay $300 for any case.. (let alone double that for Caselabs and such).

Agree. I mean as cool as the product is , NZXT has to respect customers intellect . Paying twice the price of the original case for stickers should be a no go for everyone . Highly doubt those stickers cost them more than 20€ so even if they charge double that you end up with a case at 190€ wich is kinda ok considering it's an exclusive etc but 300€ is just to much regardless if you can afford it or not .

NZXT is actually respecting the intellect of the original creator, and their intellectual property. Rather than making a knockoff of something that's similarly themed, they're actually paying to get the licensing.
The bulk of the cost would be the royalties to Bethesda or to the original artist, much like their other special painted cases. It's not about manufacturing cost, but the cost of licensing the IP. Kudos to them.

I would like to agree with you but i can't .
What you are saying can't be true since the PUPG version was selling for under 200 and considering PUPG has sold close the twice as many copies as the entire Fallout franchise ( 50+M vs 30+M ) one would think that PUPG royalties are more expensive than those for Fallout . Beside that you are nuts if you believe that Bethesda is making more than 20bucks royalties per case and i have already taken that into account in my price .

Don't get me wrong you have the right to throw kudos to them while they're ripping you off nontheless

ahd i love limited collectors ... but again ...

when a paintjob and a number make the price almost double ... (round 180$ for a red/black one for me )

i have the AppleSeed limited collector edition DVD box including some goodies on the side of a numbered original cut of the film roll (Nr.725/5000) , which did cost... only 5% higher than the single DVD box
a Tiger I 131 from Italeri (Nr. 1201/1500) only cost 10$ over a normal one

granted the second has less value than the first ...

for a PC case ... muh ... putting it in limited edition just for pushing the price, seriously .... it's only a paintjob/stickerjob, it can be done on a normal H700 which is what that case is in the end, if it was a limited run custom case from a modder (aka what we see quite often here on TPU in buildlogs) then it would be worth to be a limited collector (even with a higher price tag)

alright ... soooo what about asking the original artist for 2000 airbrush custom job on these limited edition and jack up the price a little bit, with a justification this time, and not just "print" 2000 case and write "limited edition" on it ...

Just because it's silly and childish to you doesnt mean it is to others. There is a thing called a "theme" and if someone wants a fallout theme based build then they should be entitled to one and purchase a case such as this.
