I found some threads in forums where people had done just that. Fan cannot be just moved but lower parts of fins can be cut off. This will come with a noticeable decrease in performance though.

Semi-offtopic, I was considering hacking up a AXP-100 but I went for Cryorig C7 Cu instead. 613 grams worth of copper heatsink that is as small as that felt strange :)
The C7 Cu has been at the top of my list, but heard mixed about the fan noise under load. Are you liking it?

Have not had a chance to do any real testing. RealLife™ is taking up way too much time from computer stuff :)

Initial impression is that C7-s fan is crappy. Based on some forum stories I did also get a Noctua fan for it but I'll have to test if and how much it improves things. That is a very small cooler, so performance-wise I have modest expectations. Noise-wise, if C7-s own fan gets annoying, Noctua should help a little :)

Friggen sweet. I love the look of copper. Nice to have double the thermal conductivity, too. Copper moves a good little bit more heat compared to aluminum. Nice to be able have a smaller cooler with the cooling capacity of a large one. I love my big ole Scythe mid-tower cooler, but I'd like it more if it was was a copper mini-tower with decently comparable performance. That or you can say fuck CLC's and overclock on a hulking, twin-fan 140mm, all copper full tower. Would probably obliterate all of those AIO's out there now.

I know it doesn't work that way... ...would be neat to see though. With good enough fans you'd see some significant gains.

Would make a hell of a statement. And the performance should be there. That'd be pretty cool. I mean literally. Weight could become a problem though.

Though I must admit I think the orange fan is hideous. It's like the uncanny valley of matching. It almost matches, but it's just off enough that it's really jarring. I get that this is just how it was done many times before, but that doesn't mean it ever looked good! Copper is beautiful. That fan is just a shame :/

Still, I had no idea people were still making these. Might have to pick one up just to have it around. I'd really like a small tower more than ITX though.

That C7 Cu sure is a beatiful cooler.

Norton gave me a Cryorig M9i awhile back and I really liked the fan noise profile. Even when it is ramping up, it has a nice even tone. So...when I needed a low profile itx solution...I picked up the Cryorig C7. That is despite "pretty much" all the reviews that I watched who said to purchase the Noctua NH-L9i. I thought I'd give it a shot and judge for myself. It lasted for three hours in the computer I installed it in. The fan kept ramping up and spinning down continuously and had a high pitch whirring noise to it. Rather annoying.

I've been a fan of low profile cooler's since the Samuel 17...and I'm adding a rule in regards to purchasing them(for myself). I'll never purchase one unless I can replace the fan. The Samuel 17 didn't even come with one...:).

Best,

Liquid Cool
