the best thing about 2990WX is that skylake X can be picked up much cheaper now. i got a new 7960X for $1075 on a fleabay auction, in box with a 3 year intel warranty. with multicore enhancement and turbo boost 3 enabled, i get 3680+ in cinebench with the added benefit of not having to toggle between memory modes/disabling cores and restarting when i switch between application that benefit from high core counts and ones that like lower memory latency
