Interesting that the Recommended spec has an HEDT processor listed.
The weirdest one too... I honestly doubt they actually tested the specs

Companies should put a little more effort into minimum recommendations.
This type of stuff can create confusion among players. I'd say 1 CPU model per series should do it.
Pentium G4560 is within minimum, but people might think that it isn't, for example.

Does the Recommendation mean that i need a CPU with 130W minimum-TDP ?
Since i have heard the Skylake-X CPUs get very hot, should i buy a Threadripper 1920X then ?

DANGER: This Post could contain sarcasm !

Yeah, but it seems like they are suggesting that you need quad channel memory in order to play the recommended settings. Why not recommend a 3770k?
The CPU is also weird.... Seems kinda like buying current HEDT mobos, but slapping an i7 into it...... At least they gave you guys quad channel memory back in that day.
They aren't the specific components required. I'm sure that a 2600K would just be fine as an i7-3820. And they gave triple channel with X58 in 2008 also, nothing special in X79's quad channel.

Why did they put 2 Intel CPUs in Minimum specs?
A decent 2c/4t CPU and a slow 4c/4t one, I see no problem here?

I think I recall watching a DF video about the game and the developers apparently claimed the engine has been further optimized for PC. It features largely the same elements and visuals after all, it's not that far fetched for it to have rather tame system requirements.

Basically I don't care since I play it on Xbox one x horizon games are my all time favorite and one of the best racing games around in my opinion. It's more of a exclusive for Xbox consoles. I've already pre order this game.

I have to say... the series is just mind-blowing fun-wise. I finally bought an Xbox lately (One S) and I rushed a bit because Forza 2 was in August's Games with Gold. I think I'll pass the more "pickup-themed" Forza 3, but this new one is a sure purchase next year.
You are right, but the current consoles would benefit much more from a better CPU than upping GPU from this point onwards.
Not really. Consoles have a different graphic pipeline. It's more low-level, more direct and optimized for the particular hardware. CPU does less video-related things.
I wish MS just gave up on consoles period and went full gusto into promoting PC gaming (maybe even migrating an Xbox interface/game mode to Windows too). Like a whole rethinking and massive "Games for Windows" push. It needs to be the base, rather than the second/afterthought platform.
Exactly what I used to think few years ago. But today? Totally opposite. If only one gaming platform could survive, it would have to be consoles.
You don't have to use an Xbox the traditional way (with a TV and a pad). You can put it on your desk, connect to an LCD and play with a mouse/keyboard. You get all of console advantages without going to far from the PC interface you're used to.

Sure, PCs are years ahead in image quality, but you know why is it like that? It's because PC gaming exists. :)
Currently leading Xbox One X costs $500 and good luck matching it's performance with a similarly priced PC. If people stopped gaming on PCs, we would most likely get a $1000 console with 1080Ti-ish performance. :)

That's an interesting reversal of the problem.. Maybe you're right. I wouldn't complain if that happened.. the same result would be the same, where the "defacto" gaming platform of choice (and baseline for developers) is one of higher quality rather than middling.

Exactly. And I'm still somehow torn, because I need a CUDA-capable GPU in my "work" PC. Now it's a desktop with 1050. Next I'll move to a notebook with something similar. Hence, I may as well use it for gaming.
If I could live with an Intel IGP for work, having to compromise the whole PC (which I use for 20-30h a week) to run games (3-5h a week) would be just silly and expensive. It's really not hard to understand why so many people moved to consoles.

I have high hopes for game streaming as well.
Maybe it's my first and last console. Maybe few years from now I'll replace it with apps (hopefully for both TV and Windows). :)
I don't play lag-critical games and I'm fine with 1080p@60fps. I should be covered by the 1st "Xbox in the cloud" generation.
(And the other part of me really wants an RTX2070... But my bank account disagrees :))
