Raijintek Announces the Ophion and Ophion EVO Cases

Raijintek today announced the Ophion and Ophion EVO cases. The Raijintek Ophion and Ophion EVO are two impressive M-ITX cases that are not only affordable at just £119.99/£129.95, but more importantly offer a range of features not often seen in small form factor cases.

The Ophion and Ophion EVO can accommodate a full size 330mm GPU alongside a standard ATX power supply, with the Ophion EVO even supporting top mounted 240mm AIO coolers in a case that's just 17.4cm wide. The case itself has a brushed aluminum front panel alongside two tool-less tempered glass side panels; It also includes a full speed PCIe 16x Riser Cable.

Easy to access, install and upgrade components
The Raijintek Ophion and Ophion Evo both come with tool-less, tempered glass side panels to give access to the internal components. The case itself supports a Mini-ITX size motherboard, located on the left hand side next to the ATX power supply mount complete with kettle lead extension.

On the right hand side of the case is the GPU mount, which can hold up to a 330mm full size card, with a 250mm PCIe 16x Gen 3 Riser cable included as standard.

Air-cooling configurations
In terms of air cooling, the Raijintek Ophion comes with space for up to 3 x 120mm fans. 2 x 120mm fans (25mm) are located in the top of the case and an additional 120mm (Ophion 15mm/Ophion EVO 15/25mm) at the bottom located directly below the motherboard mount.

Ophion EVO Water-cooling
Unlike the Ophion, the slightly larger Ophion EVO supports a top mounted 240mm AIO cooler, perfect for cooling overclocked components.

Ophion Storage Options
The Ophion has support for a single 3.5" HDD drive, which can be mounted in place of one of the top 120mm fans. In terms of 2.5" drives, the Ophion can mount a single 2.5" SSD mounted to the front panel, with room for an additional 2 x 2.5" drives in place of one of the top 120mm fans.

Ophion EVO Storage Options
The Ophion Evo has support for a single 3.5" HDD or 2 x 2.5" SSDs, by removing the bottom 120mm fan. The front panel also has an additional 2 x 2.5" SSD mounts.

Connetivity on the front I/O Panel
The Ophion and Ophion Evo both have a aingle USB 3.0 and USB type C connector alongside an LED power button.

I'd have to disagree with "useless dust filter", but the power button definitely must go.

Otherwise, looks like a nice candidate to replace my shitty Q11B.

There's a gap between the glass panel which air sucked into. Nothing filter the dust from the sides.

Like i said somewhere else, that glass almost completely blocking the graphics card airflow is a deal breaker, and the price is just ridiculous.

In this case both are useless if they get clogged with dust and restrict airflow even more, but I think that's the whole point of dust filters.
Top ones were life savers at one of my workplaces. Most of their later PCs have Aerocool Aero-500 chassis, which has a top mesh on magnetic strips. People would use their desktops as "underdesk shelves" for their lunch, dusty slippers, phones, keys etc., so when it comes to maintenance, all I really need to do is take the mesh, blow some compressed air through it, wash it and put it back on. The insides are usually as clean as my cat's ass.
One employee was stupid enough to take the cover off (for the sake of better airflow, as you've mentioned), and the next thing you know a small metal staple from his work documents fell off the desk right into the venting hole and shorted the motherboard. All USB ports died, Z97 board had to be replaced. It's a stupid and unfortunate coincidence, but if the filter was in place, there wouldn't be any of that mess.
Another dude threw away his dust filters entirely (they were too dirty). His PC got clogged within 3 months, cause the entire office floor has carpet and the cleaning schedule is irregular at best.
It's better not to have any vent holes at all, than turning your PC into a vacuum cleaner.

Yep, that's a big plus. I used to think that it's not critical, but now I use it daily on my AsRock DeskMini.

If you use all three as intake, that gap will be part of the exhaust.

....If they'd moved the mobo tray up by about 20mm, that would have made a brilliant mATX case...

Literally the exact complaint I have with things like the NCase M1 and BitFenix Prodigy ITX - very minor changes would have made excellent mATX cases.

Only small changes in size would allow mATX motherboard with dual 280mm radiator.
But could be watercooled and now. Pump/Res combo on back side instead 2x 80mm fans and 240mm radiator on top.
It's very similar as mine PC-O11 WXC, smaller brother.

Nutters like me want a second x16/x8 to put properly fast networking (25G+) in our machines. as it is right now, a pump and res would fit just fine in the PSU chamber, or failing that, we could re-purpose the 80mm rear fan mounts for it. Other than that, it's a lovely case.
