We Americans noticed that overly boring abomination called football many years ago, and we thought it was a name too good for such a silly sport, so we reappropriated it to our totally awesome "USA football" and gave the name soccer to your silly sport. The rest of the world doesn't have to like it, but we just didn't want to bore Americans with soccer when they thought they were gonna see FOOTBALL! However, we invite you to join us in embracing football and putting soccer in its place.
