6 years ago i already filed the idea of a 6pin PCIE 90° adapter for graphics cards... i wonder when will someone acually make it.
Maybe EVGA would do it seeing as they have the PowerLink that routes GPU power connectors to the end on the card.

Still very cool from CM to offer this. I previously bought a GPU holder from them to fight GPU sag. I guess the reason it's pricier than chinese knockoffs is the capacitors and global availablity wich adds cost.
I really wish all motherboards would start implementing a 90 degree connector and place CPU EPS connector(s) near it too. Also 90 degree. Like EVGA has done on their Z390 Dark pictured above.

The coolermaster one is a solid plastic object. The one linked is a blue PCB between two 24 pin connectors.

Visually the CM product wins by far.

Yeah, but the point is there are others out there, some that don't look as bad, that don't stick a mile high off the motherboard.

Why is the height an issue past memory slots?

I understand if you have tall memory then you might have compability problems with large CPU aircoolers but surely no such cooler extends to the ATX24 pin area for it to become a problem?

Extra capacitors are never a bad thing because they will always help to reduce ripple no matter how low it already is in your system.
Except when that add unwanted/unneeded resistance and/or inductance to a circuit. Since there's no such thing as an ideal capacitor(which only adds capacitance and/or ripple suppression). See ESR(Equivalent Series Resistance) and ESL(Equivalent Series Inductance).

Way too many beers for this.

Yeeaah, but that would only be a problem in specific scenarios, and not when it comes to this kind of filtering. AFAIK.

I have one for ~ 2$ bought from some underground retail shops here in Akihabara, Tokyo.

Because the entire point of a 90° adapter, or even better a 90° port on the motherboard, is to get the cable as low as possible, so it doesn't stick out and isn't as noticeable. If you have a huge adapter, and the 24-pin cable plugs in all the way at the top, you aren't really doing much to reduce its visibility.

It is still better to have the cable rotated 90 degrees. You'll be looking at the motherboard from the top-down trough a window not from the side sitting on a table. And running tall aircooler easily dwarfs any other tall component on the motherboard.

Use this with Evga Dark mobo to hide cables 100%.

I love the fact that EVGA is doing right-angled power connectors. I hate that they do half a job by leaving the metal parts exposed and not covered with plastic like e.g. the USB 3 and SATA connectors. Not only does it ruin the look IMO, the fact is that those connectors could easily give someone a nasty shock - or worse - if someone happens to brush their fingers over them while the system is powered on (think of this board on a bench for an LN2 run).

As for Coolermaster, they can suck a fat one. Not only did they manage to "invent" a product that's been around forever, they made it ugly and overpriced.

I'd rather just have black individually sleeved cables on the 24 pin than use the ugly CoolerMaster 90° adapter, it will look better with just the cable, the cable probably won't even stick up as far as this adapter.

I hate that they do half a job by leaving the metal parts exposed and not covered with plastic like e.g. the USB 3 and SATA connectors.

At the very least they could have thrown some black shrink wrap on the exposed metal legs.

Seriously, about time some respected company released one.

I like the idea of 90 deg 24-pin, but not the way EVGA do it. I have almost exclusively EVGA boards simply for their longevity, but their implementation of 24-pin plug is flawed. Especially on new board when plug is new, you risk tearing-off socket from motherboard PCB. Also EVGA way has one giant flaw in some PC cases. Models which have removable motherboard tray, usually have pronounced edge to reinforce the frame where tray is slotted-in. That small pronounced piece or plastic, aluminium or steel is the issue. You have to plug the power cable before the motherboard tray is fully in. Then gently push forward to secure the tray. There is serious risk of damaging the 24pin socket on board if you try to force the cable the usual way.

With this little guy there is no issue.

God I have been looking for this very thing for so long. Like the last 5 years. I even tried to make a version and it failed terribly.
I can't fathom why this hasn't been around for years.
