Antec Inc., leading provider of high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself market, shows off a new angle of innovation: the new open-frame chassis "Torque" is now commercially available.

Comprised of 14 precisely cut aluminum panels in high contrast crimson and titanium, Antec's latest case features 4 mm tempered glass side panels for unrivaled performance and style. Torque is entirely open-air, with vast airflow and cooling management measures in place so that form and function are in perfect alignment. The chassis measures 621 x 285 x 644 mm (DxWxH) and is compatible with ATX, Micro-ATX and ITX motherboards.

Torque is comprised of 14 aluminum panels crafted by high precision CNC digital cutting to ensure perfection in every curve and edge. The high quality anodized aluminum panels are corrosion resistant, for unrivaled durability. In terms of cooling, the case offers space for three 120 mm in the front and three 120 mm at the top. For extra water-cooling, the chassis allows to install a 360 mm radiator at the front and top of the chassis. Topped with a hinged aluminum cockpit, Torque enables easy access to the top radiator.

Torque's bold styling fused with high-end hardware support guarantees an unbeaten experience for builders and enthusiasts. The hard drive mounting system boasts one 2.5" and one 3.5" HDD drive cage and seven expansion slots. The front bezel allows access to two USB 3.0 ports, POWER button as well as MIC/HD AUDIO jacks. The case supports USB 3.1 Type-C Gen2, allowing users to enjoy higher data transfer speeds and compatibility with next-gen peripherals.

The Antec Torque is now available from 379€ (suggested retail price including VAT).

I don't know what all the fuss about, I think it's a great looking case and if it wasn't for kids crawling around this the open design I would probably get it. Got that Ducati look to it.

I can see the motorcycle influence for sure. I like it because it's design is outside of the norm. Of course some people will think it's ugly and some will love it. That's why manufactures rarely stray much from the mainstream.

Having a PC assembled top of the motherboard box looks better.

That's why manufactures rarely stray much from the mainstream.

nope, they are just too worried about copying what everyone else does, change it just enough so they dont get sued, and then mass producing the crap out of it, just to get it out the door and have the moohlah flowing in....

For most mfgr's, "innovation" has become a 4 letter word nowadays, and only a few are really willing to try to come up with something new and different and take a chance on it actually becoming a hit with consumers :(

Look at what happened when Corsair, a well known and respected company, made the Air 540 (and later, its 240/740 variants)...... yes some people did not care for them, but they still sold a buttload of them anyways....

Same thing happend with ThermalTake when they made the TT900 Supertower..... it was supposed to be a "niche" product for sure, but they continue to sell quite well :D

Its nice thinking your PC is a naked motorcycle, but I doubt anyone's using it at 180 kph so your parts won't be any cooler for it.

Practical benefit = zero
Dust = everywhere

Also, this has been done before... about 3 times now? Cougar has one, cant remember the others, that's how memorable it all is :D

Inb4 first cat accident btw... "My OC killed little tommy, death by fan blades"

Looks like something the Empire used for land attacks in Star Wars I wasn't gonan watch the video but I expect tons of LED effects and maybe even breathing sounds.... kid will wake up screaming either way. And for the grwonups, no way ya gonna "get lucky" with that thing in the room ... as soon as ya get strated I'd expect to hear .. "that thing is looking at me".

Having a 740 myself, otherwise this is a great case, but it could be better for watercooling.. I mean, not a genius spot to install a pump/res combo unlike Define S and that Lian Li der8auer case have for example. I took the SSD tray off and mounted it there. The SATA SSD just hangs there. :D
