There's enough people that do, though.
But that's my point. If we, as a gaming public, stopped paying for such lame-duck business models publishers would have no choice but to go back to a business model that better serves the interests and rights of the end user.

Your point is perfectly valid. Where publishers win is when they bet on the less educated part of the public ;)

Very true, and this is another reason I'm not happy with cloud: gaming is in desperate need of regulation and best practices when it comes to how the content is provided, serviced, and guaranteed to remain available. Cloud is another attempt to push gaming into less of an owned product and more of a subbed service, which doesn't help any of that.

Its not healthy for the gaming space to have a majority of subscribers instead of owners.

Well, at the end of the day, it's just entertainment. And not the only source at that.
