LG FlatronWide L206WU USB Monitor Gets Released In The US

LG announced today that its latest 20-inch FlatronWide L206WU USB-based monitor is getting released to the US.
The L206WU almost identical to the Samsung SyncMaster 940UX and it has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 170 degree horizontal / vertical viewing angles , DVI , VGA and a USB connection that can be used in over five displays.
So far the USB connection has a form of built-in lag due to the restrictions of the USB connection, so we will have to wait and see what LG along with DisplayLink have as a solution .
We are still on standby for Price and availability dates.

Actually, it works really well in Windows XP and does work in Vista as well. Problem does arise for 3D applications and HD movie content at times, but DisplayLink is working hard on that.

The demos at Computex were quite impressive. Considering the technology is aimed at business users, features like gaming are not really the biggest concern.

So, I guess my question is, using USB, how does it produce video on the monitor if sed computer has a discrete graphics card? That simply amazes me.

USB to VGA Bridges or "External GFX Card" are available a long time ago
so there's no need for dual head but i loved it for autocad at work if your on a laptop ;-)

well one really interesting aspect is wireless USB. Imagine your montior turning on once you come in reach with your notebook or other hardware...

stuff like that should be sweet.
