Retail Prices of Key Intel Core i5 and 8th Gen Core i7 Processor SKUs Sober Up

Prices of retail versions of several 8th and 9th generation Intel Core processor SKUs dropped down to MSRP-levels Friday, in the US. Newegg currently lists the Core i5-9600K at USD $249.99, and the Core i7-8700K at $369.99, while the i7-8700 goes for $319.99, matched with AMD's Ryzen 7 2700X. The Core i5-8600K is listed at $239.99, which is just $20 above the consumer-favorite i5-8400. Newegg's pricing is still riddled with mark-up anomalies for SKUs in high demand. The Core i7-9700K is listed at $487.99, which is about $10 cheaper than Intel's MSRP for the Core i9-9900K, which is selling for an obnoxious $850.

Microcenter has 9600K for $240, the 9700K for $400 and the 9900K for $580.

8600K is $220, the 8700K is $330 and the 8086K is $400.

Pretty sure these are normal prices and not BF prices for Microcenter

MC usually has lower prices but they do sneaky stuff too. Like raise the prices of their SALE and up the MSRP/regular price to show biggers savings at an elevated price. Even tho its usually same or lower then others.

Just did a build for a friend and picked up the 2700X from MC for $269.99. Coupled it with the $30 off combo deal for the MB, was a pretty solid deal for us

I got my 9900k for 529.99 on amazon

My 6700k i upgrades from max oc on water was 4.6ghz, my 9900k os 5ghz on all 8 cores 24/7 since i installed it and it allows me to oc my ram xD. My 6700k was horrible.. So happy with the 9900k jubilant

That $850 price on Newegg for the 9900K is from a 3rd party vendor. The actual sold by/from Newegg price is listed as $569.99 but shows OOS.

There is no sobering up in Europe, cheapest 9900K in EU is 625€ (715$), 9700K is 480€ (550$).

Yep, that's what i'm gonna do.

I want to upgrade, but people told me to wait for Zen2. In the end i thought to myself: "Why would i pay a big fat premium for an Intel CPU that doesn't even have Hyperthreading?"

So back to AMD, which i last used in 2008 before going Intel.

smart move intel took away xeon support so you cant get I-7 hyperthreading at I-5 price on these later ''gaming '' boards . remember like a z 87 the long list of cpu's supported I-7 - I-5 and xeno .. good ol' days and a choice not stranded to I-5m or I-7 only and top it off with win-10 only too boot .. [ today you build as they want not as you need and your personal computer is now there public one ]
