As part of our company policy Club 3D always wants to be first or among the first to bring new connectivity technologies to the market. We have done it again and are proud to announce the availability of the first Ultra High Speed HDMI Cables 10K 120Hz (with DSC 1.2 support) 48Gbps (aka HDMI 2.1) in 2 different lengths. We introduce CAC-1371 (1m) and CAC-1372 (2m) as the first cables for the new standard which will set new horizons regarding highest resolutions at very high clock rates.

I was being sarcastic, basically because we so rarely get any price info in these "new product" postings, plus the fact that I don't need anything like this so it really doesn't matter to me anyway one way or the other

But OTOH, anyone who thinks that blowing a wad of cash on some hyped-up, so-called "next-gen" hdmi cables is ok, then perhaps they would also be interested in some prime beachfront property I have for sale.... in central Arkansas and Denver.......

If an HDMI cable is too expensive for anyone something has gone horribly wrong.

DisplayPort needs to get off their arse and push a new version to compete or edge out HDMI 2.1.

In this instance, new HDMI cables actually are needed to take advantage of all of the HDMI 2.1 features. The best of the current ones only go up to 18Gbps. I'm sure Monoprice, Amazon et. al will have cheaper 48Gbps cables out soon enough.

Or, you know, it is for businesses and not the general public yet... Generally businesses buy the advanced tech first and then costs go down as manufacturing ramps up. Just because news like this is posted on TPU does not mean it is for the everday techno-geek with a custom PC.

It's a standard that's been outlined by the HDMI founders/forum and cables are mass produced. The only thing that needs to ramp up is production and that's guaranteed to happen. There's no justification to pay more for these beyond being impatient or stupid.

4k 120hz will be possible without the current solution we have on monitors, dual displayport. Always hated display port cables anyway, bring it on hdmi 2.1.

No it means that the same people who are being asked by the mfgr's to post this stuff are either unwilling or unable to ask for, at the very least, an estimated MSRP to go along with the "announcement".....this is simply unacceptable & irresponsible IMHO

It has been my experience over the years (I'm almost 60) that in other realms of consumer goods, the announcements almost ALWAYS include some mention of the price(s).....

Question then, name a single new car/household goods/food/banking/real estate ad lately that doesn't at least mention the pricing/terms/conditions etc ? Oh do tell pleeze....

Displayport 1.4 Does 120hz 4k.

This is double the bandwidth so it should be able to do a bit more than that!

Different, these are HDMI 2.1. New standard being used.

Displayport 1.4 Does 120hz 4k.

This is double the bandwidth so it should be able to do a bit more than that!

I just wanted to add a couple of things....

1. Current TVs only handle 60hz from the cable box. Your TV has the ability to process it at 120hz or 240hz using current HDMI technology today because of the internal processor built-in to today's TVs
2. Gaming PCs, more than likely, use the Display Port to allow for faster speed at higher resolution. Ex. 144hz at 1440p or whatever you want to use. That is what I use on my machine

HDMI 2.1 is a brand new standard that will be needed in future TVs and gaming consoles, as mentioned in another post. Very few TVs currently support this standard and the ones that do are very very high end. Something in the 5k price range

I am glad to see this come out and this should be the standard for about the next 5-10 years. I would like to see the Display Port standard get an update but my 144hz at 1440p has been running great for the last 3 years

HDMI 2.1 devices will still work with HDMI 2.0 cables. Honestly you won't need to jump on the HDMI 2.1 bandwagon for a little bit.

The key word from all this is : 4:2:0 Chroma Sampling. Which is the shittiest of the crappiest.
Not expecting 4:4:4 sampling, but for a quality image it should have been at least 4:2:2....

Hopefully this cable can do 4:4:4 at 4K@120Hz. Hopefully.
