TechPowerUp today released the latest version of ThrottleStop by Kevin Glynn, a utility that gives you control over your processor's internal power-management features, including OEM-preset throttling. Version 8.70 comes with a refreshed user-interface that's designed to minimize information-overload. Under the hood, improvements are made to Windows ring-0 security and memory access; thanks to contributions by Sam Haskins.

With this version, the ability to disable and lock memory-mapped Turbo power limits, and IccMax domain adjustments, are being introduced. Also fixed are the correct voltage domain names for "Skylake" (and later) CPUs. Also improved are system-tray icon behavior, including regular updates in Stop Data mode, single-click spawning of the main window, and the new Logo Min option. Grab the feature-packed new ThrottleStop from the link below.

i really wish someone would just make a video showing me how to underclock my 7820hk with this, everytime i try i always miss something or mess something up. or i still get overheating.

at the moment i just run with speedstep disabled 2.9ghz, cause of temp issues.

Hopefully this fixes the application automatically shutting itself down. It would always randomly happen maybe once or twice every day or two.

Are you using the Task Scheduler? If you are, make sure you follow the guide exactly. There are a few options in the Task Scheduler that need to be completely disabled. Grayed out Task Scheduler options are still active.

Leave Intel Turbo Boost on. With your CPU I would enable Speed Shift and set the Speed Shift Max value to whatever multiplier you like. This will give you full control of the maximum speed of your CPU.

I assume this is for Intel only CPU based motherboards?
Yes. Any Intel Core i or Core 2 Duo.

go into windows power options and it will be under advanced power settings in all of the preset profiles. just limit maximum processor state under processor power management to around 60-75

Hello! I'm noticing several crashes on Firefox (some errors are ACCESS VIOLATION ON READ) while using TS 8.70, maybe locking turbo power limits is messing with wrong memory spaces?
