RAIDMAX MX-902F Heatspreaders Add RGB Bling to Your Memory

RAIDMAX launched the MX-902F, a set of two heatspreaders for full-length DDR4 thru DDR2 memory modules, which add RGB multi-color LED bling. The heatspreaders are made of an aluminium alloy, with silicone diffusers for five addressable RGB LEDs that can put out 16.7 million colors. Each of the two heatspreaders take in standardized 3-pin addressable-RGB input, and daisy-chain a single aRGB source between the two heatspreaders. The heatspreaders are 51 mm tall (factor in some additional height when installed with a module), 8 mm-thick, and 127 mm long. The company didn't reveal pricing.

those look quite nice but they should also come with an RGB controller aswell as alot of older mobo's and cases don't have them

they use the current generic 3 pin standard, much better to keep costs down that way and have them sync up with all the other universal stuff out there

A pair of these two costs ~24 EUR locally (shipping exluded -> +2,5 EUR). About the price of NZXT Puck. Don't know how this compares to other RGB heatspreaders.

I was not a RGB fan till I got hold of a mobo with it on the cheap. Now I like the pretty lights while benching. Maybe it's the gin and juice.

still not the point I was getting at if this is the first RGB anything you buy you'll still need an controller if
a: You own an older mobo that doesn't have RGB control built in or
b: You own a case that is old enough to not have an RGB controller built into it or
c: You own nothing else RGB that came with an controller

if all all of the above then you'll need to also buy an RGB controller otherwise the RGB effects will not work

I honestly dig these a lot, especially the design they went with, the daisy-chaining, etc. I have two rigs with no RGB RAM on them, plain PCB without headspreaders. I think I'll add these in. Problem as mentioned is lack of RGB controller on my older board but I do recall seeing a few cheap options already out there.

That's for sure, but I was thinking more in the lines of: if shape is not a criteria of choise, how would they fair against something from Aliexpress for $8 bucks or so (shipping incl.) or these guys with optional controller. I still dig the Raidmax more, but I only need one heatspreader

Cool option too. It's hard to tell on both but maybe the RAIDMAX daisychaining looks/is a lot cleaner? Hard to beat that price though.

The Electric & Magic ones atleast come with a controller I don't see any mention of it with the raidmax ones

This RAIDMAX name could be smaller or outline.

Looks huge, but tbh i like the solution.
