VoodooPC Announces Core 2 Extreme X6800 Notebook

VoodooPC is now offering a new performance notebook equipped with Intel's Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor and up to 600GB of hard disk space. The Envy H:171 is one of the first notebooks to be available with Intel's latest mobile processor. In addition to the 2.66GHz quad-core CPU with 8MB of L2 cache, the system has a 17" WUXGA screen (1920x1200) and can be ordered with up to three hard drives. The base version of the X6800 system with 1GB of memory and a single 80GB drive sells for just under $6000. However, VoodooPC offers plenty of option to elevate the price to more than $8400 - including up to 4GB memory, three hard drives (with up to 600GB capacity according to the press release and up to 750GB according to the configuration page), a TV tuner and a $650 custom paint job with tattoo finishes.

granted its a high performance notebook, but the price is still very expensive. for $6000 you get "just" a 80GB HD and 1GB of RAM? why don't I just burn my money :rolleyes:

My Envy lasted the best part of a couple of months. Since then, its been a paperweight ... a silver, hand painted paperweight.

It costs a quarter of the damn thing's price to ship it back from abroad. At least I have a green name on the VoodoPC forums I suppose. :rolleyes:

VoodooPC is absolute trash. They use cheapy plastic parts that break easily, cheaply made motherboards, etc etc. Get yourself a Dell or IBM or something thats going to last more than 3 days.

Uck! Who really buys this crap. I couldn't ever see any of these things lasting all that long with a hot core2 extreme in it! Worthless.
Another brilliant move by HP, who have made the crappiest of crap builder computers for longer than anyone should be allowed to.

Voodoo PC makes quality gaming products that are almost as good as Overdrive PC. Quality parts and allow a plethora of choices for what you want.

Now on to the news topic, that is one wicked gaming laptop. Id almost say, plugged in to a constant power source (as let's face it, 3 hdds and what that thing has in it, will only have a battery life of 30mins!! <G>) would rival some well to do desktop gaming machines.
