I think they should allow for user control over the ventilation feature, like have it extend once the cpu temperature hits 75C and not 80C. That is assuming the ventilation system does improve thermals.

I think they should allow for user control over the ventilation feature, like have it extend once the cpu temperature hits 75C and not 80C. That is assuming the ventilation system does improve thermals.
80C is fine, any CPU will take that with ease. The trick is to keep the CPU fan from revving too fast at that point.

While that is true, it's always better to keep temps below 70C for best longevity. This is true of any electronics.
Only if you want to leave them to your grandkids. Thermal limits are not set to let the chip melt under normal usage. And with all the sensors in there, they're enforced pretty thoroughly.
These are workstations. They'll be obsolete and replaced in five years ;)
