Being a Bioware game, and especially a new IP from the same company that has, in recent times, brought us the Mass Effect and Dragon Age IPs, expectations for Anthem are both high and very, very cautious. No matter how cautious we are, though, not being able to play it in our rigs means we won't even be able to create our own opinion on what is one of the most anticipated titles of 2019. Now, Bioware has revealed the official system requirements for Anthem, and we know what sort of hardware the company thinks is needed for a good experience. As an added Bonus, the developers have also announced that they're working with NVIDIA towards implementing DLSS into the game.

Minimum requirements recommend at least 2 GB of video memory via an NVIDIA GTX 760 or AMD Radeon 7970 / R9 280X, while the CPu side is light on cores, with a quad core Intel Core i5 3570 or an equivalent AMD FX-6350 (six cores) alongside 8 GB of system RAM, so these are pretty standard for a 2018 game (whose release slipped to 2019). The Recommended specs, however, do showcase a game that's expected to be able to scale in graphics performance according to the hardware you have to throw at it: its doubled video memory (up to 4 GB) and system RAM (up to 16 GB), accompanied by an NVIDIA GTX 1060/ RTX 2060 (an interesting duo, since the RTX 2060 should be equivalent to a 1070 Ti), or an AMD RX 480. The CPUs show a relatively mild upgrade to an Intel Core i7-4790 or an AMD Ryzen 3 1300X.

I really don't know what to think. It looks cool, but the way it seems to play looks dreadful... and very same old. Except now you've got a jetpack. That's it. Destiny with jetpacks.

IKR. It doesn't even look that great to begin with. 'Free AA' - more like moving your jaggies to a different place with weird artifacts. I'll take T(SS)AA any day over this.

This game just screams "flop"

A game that can be played single player, yet is online only

A game that is clearly geared towards multiplayer, yet curtails social interaction with other players in many boneheaded ways.

A game from a developer who believes, per an interview they gave, that the reason Mass effect Andromeda failed is because it launched in a busy launch window, and completely dismisses criticisms of bugs, boring characters, poor story, and various other failures.

All this from Bioware, a developer that is on the EA track to being put down behind the shed like various studios before them, and from EA, a publisher that is doing a fantastic job of alienating their own fanbases and refusing to honor their own warranty claims.

Somehow I see this going over only slightly better then fallout 76.

You forgot about the target audience, naive and casual (console) gamers.

Seems like it might just work

I disagree. The "casual" market loves social integration in their games, which EA is stupendously limiting. The "social hubs" are anything buy, anything story related separates you from everybody else to enjoy the story "at your own pace", no PVP, no trading.

It seems EA has no idea what audience they want, and while marketing to the casual market, I doubt it will be a hit. Most will likely find it boring, and the lack of established name will limit initial sales.

Bioware is long "dead" in terms of producing quality single player games, unfortunently. Sad but true.
Another flop, and it is not unlikely that EA will eventually pull the plug. Like they did with so many other studios they 've acquired.

It amazes me that EA just throws studios to the wind, like dead leaves when they hit final failure. They seem quite oblivious to the concept that they as a horrible publisher are directly responsible for the failures.

What amazes me, is how smaller developer studios are still getting sold to the devil (EA), after they have seen how EA treats to other studios before them.
