Remember when we brought you coverage of Gigabyte's watercooling-built Z390 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce motherboard? At the time, we expected its design and feature set to place it some $100-$150 above the original Z390 Aorus Xtreme. Well, color us surprised, as it's being sold not at some $650-$700, but at a staggering $899 if you're lucky enough to live on the other side of the pond (speaking as a Portuguese man over here), or for an outrageous €1087 ($1247) here in my home country of Portugal. And I'm not even kidding.

Perhaps this is part of Gigabyte's push for higher profitability, via higher ASP (Average Selling Price) of its products in order to increase margins, especially on high-tier or halo products. Still, this pricing seems silly. We'll see if the market agrees with the valuation GIGABYTE is throwing behind its Z390 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce motherboard.

this board looks sexy, but when you see price tag, just close page :D

prices need to go down damn it, not up, if there is ever a reason to bring back the "PC gaming is dying" deba.... ermm... hysteria? idk the prices are a good damn reason.

This is obviously for those who have moar money than brainz.....

I don't think I spent this much for my entire rig :D

Exsqeeze me?

Like he/she said people with more money than grey mass will buy this.

For those with more dollars than sense... o_Oo_O

Sorry for the delayed response - I just came back from throwing up in the toilet.

I imagine this was NOT designed by the person/team that did the Designare. ;)

Hm, eVGA does angled mobo connectors, so GB copies?

Now they could preferably copy also VRM, layouts and BIOS (that last would really help).

And pricing. Since Z390 Dark is 499 USD. Plus probably doesnt need watercooling due how VRM is done. :/ At stock settings it can run cooler free.

Which one? Cause Z390 Designare looks kinda gamer-ish too. X299 or x399 are pretty tame (and look nice).

Is it dying? Is that a yearly occurence like New Years Eve? It kinda sounds like it by now .... :D

"putty n paint make many men faint" but not me, its horrible.. charl.

Jesus, what is this?... And then they wonder why they have to lay off hundreds of workers...

Simply tooooooo expensive for our the poor.

at least you can find without waiting in line...

1151 motherboard for (almost) 1151 euros, that's clever!

In the OC shop where I usually buy my components, the second most expensive board is Rampage VI Extreme.. Feels just weird that a mainstream board (even with the bundled monoblock) costs 500 euros more, than a legendary HEDT series high-end board.
