I think the gaming prowess might be a bit exaggerated, but this would be a great replacement for my old 1.5ghz Jaguar-based build. I think they might have the specs wrong though—the FX-8800P is supposedly a 15W part.

Didn't they just announced that same board a month ago?

It depends on OEMs implementation. 8800p can be anywhere in 15-35W range. First press-release stated 15W (so did the BIOSTAR's own spec page), but apparently it's now 25W.
Either way, it's enough for a decent arcade/MMO rig. Built-in GPU supposedly can handle Dota 2 and CS:GO (at least it was, according to AMD), but I highly doubt anyone will consider buying this unless it's dirt-cheap.

I would consider it if it’s in the $50-75 range. I like that it uses regular RAM. Most boards of this class use SODIMMS. I had a Richland APU years ago—I remember it could handle Portal 2 ok at 720P. This should be just as good as that, maybe better.

It can handle some old stuff no problem, but I wouldn't hold my hopes high for that $75 price tag. Biostar is cheap, but the SoC itself probably costs half that if not more.
If anything, I'd start saving for the upcoming Udoo bolt with embedded Ryzen SoC.

Yeah, I’m not that desperate for an upgrade. If I had to, I’d probably get an AM4 and Athlon chip, though I’m sure that would be more expensive. I think the price I mention will happen eventually. AMD probably has low demand for these chips anymore.

Are they seriously promoting that 3D Mark 11 score as a good thing?

eBay pricing on an item with low availability isn’t always the best guide. For example, the old and slow a68n-5000 board that I have (that I’m saying this might replace) is selling on eBay for $180. I guess they won’t put an MSRP on this so retailers can try their luck at selling them?

I can get an Athlon 200GE and AM4 board for $110, though it wouldn’t be a mini-ITX board. Would certainly have more of a future though.

I would say, definitely ideal for HTPC or NAS station build with addition of RAID card. And I have found somewhere or someone mentioned on another thread that the cost is around $90, which isn't bad at all.

I wonder if it is beefy enough to run Tencent Gaming Buddy with PUBG Mobile at highest image quality. Even my Pentium G3240 with onboard graphics fails to run 720p at 30fps.

Are they seriously promoting that 3D Mark 11 score as a good thing?

Isn't that what AMD famous for? Same chipset platform that runs longer than Intel's.
