Silicon Power (SP), a leading provider of memory storage solutions, adds the new Mobile C10 flash drive to its OTG flash drive family. With the Type-C interface becoming the most popular interface for smart devices of any kind and increasing connectivity, data, and storage problems for smartphone uses, the Mobile C10 aims to be the premier solution for customers. SP designed the new flash drive to be an on-the-go companion and excellent solution for quick back-ups of important device storage, whether that's on a laptop or another OTG smart device.

The Mobile C10 tackles the average users' most common problems: losing connection to cloud-based music and movies during travel, much needed extra storage for smartphone backups, and a connection between phones and computers more trustworthy than cloud storage. The Mobile C10 comes with impressive 5Gbps data transfer rates with its cutting edge USB3.1 speeds and huge capacities. The C10 offers up to 128GB of instant storage expansion, making this device the perfect companion when customers run out of storage space from too many picture, video, and app downloads. This huge problem solver is conveniently wrapped up in a tiny package. The C10's unique and easy-to-use Type-C connector retractable cover and COB technology keep the drive safe from rough use. With a high-quality hairline texture finish, the flash drive's compact size and keyhole design allow easy travel and portability.

Mobile C10 Features:
  • Super Speed USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Type-C UFD with data transfer speeds up to 5Gb/s
  • Supports both laptops and OTG Smart devices
  • Excellent solution for quick back-ups of important device storage
  • Simpler alternative to Cloud Storage as the bridge between phones and computers
  • Unique retractable design for easy protection of Type-C connector
  • Supports Hot Plug & Play
  • High compatibility and portable design with keyhole ring design
  • Protected against water, vibration, and dust through COB technology
  • Free SP Widget software download (for computer) for efficient file management

IMO they needed to make one for Apple phones. Most of Android phones have a slot for microSD.

And its only 5Gbps. This is just a 3.0 drive with a type C connector.

Where are all the 10Gbps type C drives to truly take advantage of the interface? What is the point of 3.2 2x2 and 40Gbps USB whatever if nothing uses it?

Price i guess. Sandisk label USB2 products as USB 3 products all the time - they look like the USB 3 part they're supposed to be but run at USB 2 speeds. Those USB sticks are usually cheap.

^^2nd that^^ why didn't they just wait a few months & make their drives using the new standard, right ?

But OTOH, most drive mfgr's have just barely started making external SSD's with the new speeds/connectors, so flash drives will probably be the last to do so AGAIN :(

But it also has a microSD slot, doesn't?
All my Android phones have that, and makes this stick unnecessary.
Apple on the other hand... they don't have that luxury.

Yes I do but some phones are pain in the butt to remove the card. Mine is with a pin like the Iphones. Also always plugging the phone to transfer files its annoying. I see this as an advantage to transfer easily all your pictures/videos, music and documents. Plus if you have long travel its easier to just put many movies and tv shows on that gadget to watch them on the plane instead of loading the memory space in your phone or SD card.

My SD also comes out with a pin, same tray with the SIM, and I have filled it with Netflix movies when I travel. 128GB take a lot of shows. I don't know if Netflix would let you save on that device.
But... I can see some Android people using it.
However my point was that Apple users really could use this, because the have no other alternative.
