Rebellion Games announced that "Sniper Elite V2 Remastered" is up for pre-order on Steam. The game will release on May 14. Originally priced at USD $38.49, the pre-order comes with a 10 percent discount, at $34.99. Those who own the original "Sniper Elite V2" from 2012 can buy the game as an "upgrade," for just $9.99. Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is built on Rebellion's latest Asura engine, supports the latest hardware and technologies, and in the words of the developer, features updated environments, characters, weapons and vehicles, modernized rendering and post-processing effects, enhanced texturing and level geometry, a revamped lighting system, and dozens upon dozens of improvements and refinements. Rebellion has also carried the gameplay mechanics of "Sniper Elite 4" over, so the rifles and projectiles behave more physically-accurate.

I like the game and have a copy of it on Steam, but not enough to pay for it again.

the heavy discount should be 100% off.

You expect them to give you a content upgrade worth thousands of man-hours for free 7 years after game-release?

This isn't a high-res texture pack.

That's a fair price to pay, although it was rather short. Will be grabbing this!
I wish they made SE:Nazi Zombie Army 4 thoo. I love that series more than the main Sniper Elite

Not fair i have all Sniper elite franchises this should be free for us.

At least its not an Epic store exclusive lol
Got original, might consider grabbing.

got borderlands remastered free, if you looked at my library you would see sniper elite 1, v2, v3 and v4. So yes i do expect it.

Nobody asked for this remaster.

Great, then enjoy your 2012 original. Let those who want the eye-candy pay for it.

It´s actually a good price for an remaster. For 9.99€ I might play it again!

"Rebellion has also carried over the gameplay mechanics of "Sniper Elite 4" over"

Double "over".

"so the rifles and projectiles behave more physically-accurately"

I guess you meant "accurate".

Based upon everything that they did within this remaster, I think this is a good deal. The game has replayability, I just still have a backlog of games to get to before I get back to this gem and by then it will probably be a black friday special for $5.

Unless the upgrade price for current owners ends up being a limited time. That has been done before with other games.

As long as they keep the price reasonable, I am fine with it based upon the amount of effort placed into it. To me it wouldn't be any different of a comparison to say me going back and playing Civ 5 or 6 again once a DLC is released. Those DLCs cost more money and yet I keep going back even though they might not change a lot.

With that said, I now realize that this isn't really a typical remaster and is more comparable to a DLC based upon what they did.

They would do well to keep that price locked in at $10 for previous owners. I feel that $15 is pushing it.

So if you got a music album on LP or a movie on VHS, you are also expecting any CD, DVD, Blu-ray remasters to be free?
You have paid a game with certain features and certain visual quality. If you want that improved, it's expected to pay a difference. If the game seller is nice and gives you a heavy discount (or free) that's his prerogative. But that is not something that should be expected.

PS: Do you work for free to demand this from others?
