No More Calls To Microsoft

A certain number of KB articles from Microsoft offer a hotfix which can be obtained by calling Microsoft Support to authenticate your version of Windows and to check whether you need that hotfix or not. Microsoft now offers a new way with which you can now download a hotfix without having to call a Microsoft representative. With this way you will receive a form mail in response, and in it will be a link to the http site where you can download the fix from.

And no i see that you don't care about your post counter. You only have 1.252 posts in 2 months time and 13.51 per day. Not to mention you do the same thing in every thread you dont like.

The point of a news section is for people to respond, not to add. You add to posts asking for help.

The point of news is for people to read them and if they want to add or ask a question they do so. It's not for people to come and say they don't like the news they read. If you don't like something there isn't a reason to post anything, you just move along to reading news you like. I think it's rather easy to comprehend.

IMO there is far to much " ill post just for the sake of it news " going up, so much so that it swamps the decent stuff that gets pushed well down the list and forgot about, we need a bit of quality news control here people.

Whoever looks for news to a site can easily scroll a couple of pages. There is no known way for any news site around the net to compress every news story in one page especially when they use pictures. As for quality of news like i said this is useful to people that really want to have their systems covered with every patch available by Microsoft. Those who don't know what to do with this or don't care obviously wont find it as good news.

Like you said when i think that a news post ain't worth placing in the frontpage i don't thus i move it in the forums. This however is good news to many people. You would know that if you ever tried to download a hotfix and you couldn't cause you had to call Microsoft and wait till they approved it for you to download.

I've never had to call Microsoft regarding a hotfix, not on any computer I've used and/or worked on. I've only had to call once when I reactivated XP Pro too many times on my machine. Luckily the Indian guy spoke pretty clearly, and spoke the numbers slowly.

There are many hotfixes that aren't publicly available, you get those when you call Microsoft for support. These hotfixes address very specific issues and won't be added to servicepacks and such. You would expect someone that doesn't care about a change in this service would at least know about the service.
