During this year's Gamescom, MSI had a booth set up showcasing multiple products among which they shown new model of Radeon RX 5700 and 5700 XT graphics cards. Boasting a beefy triple slot cooler with two of MSI's Torx fans, the card is designed to stay cool under all kinds of workloads. Interesting thing to note here is the addition of aluminium plate that spans over VRM area, presumably to help with cooling. Card is powered by two 8 pin connectors, indicating that PCB is clearly a non-reference, custom model with boosted VRM configuration.

For I/O, we are getting a standard set for RX 5700 series, meaning three DisplayPorts and one HDMI port. Frequency is undisclosed, however we can expect to see a slight factory OC. MSI has confirmed that the card will become available in a couple of weeks, precisely 21 days from now.

Looks like a chunky cooler, and the fins seem to be really tightly packed, let's hope it performs well, more options is always a plus.

If the fins were rotated 90 degrees this might give the Sapphire Pulse some competition. As it is, it compares to the XFX THIC (maybe could add another "c") and will heat up the motherboard and possibly the m.2 drive underneath.

Another big GPU cooler for a GPU that doesnt have OC headroom. Even the stock cooler, granted at stupid sound levels, can hit max boost. The sapphire card showed, even though it ran much cooler, that just wasnt any headroom left in the card.

With such a GPU, what is the point of custom PCBs and triple slot coolers? It isnt going to go any faster, sadly.

Maybe RX 5800 ?
Well yeah, but I said with THIS GPU, as in the 5700xt. The 5800 isnt out yet, and will likely be a larger die, so 5700xt boards are not going to work with the 5800xt, whenever it comes out.

Even so, if the 5800xt OCes like the 5700xt does, the point will still stand, its like their CPUs. There is no OC headroom anymore, so what is the point of overbuilt motherboards/AIBs if there is nothing left to get? Might as well stick with the cheapest open air cooler you can get.

That's the review Im looking for anxious to see ... so far none of th 5700 XTs have caught the MSI 2070 Gaming trio in performance, sound or temps ... if any one is going to do it, I'm thinking this will be the one.

Twin Frozr III, it sure ran good, the only thing it lacked was 0 rpm idle, which back then wasn't a standard feature.

Wow, no Twin Frozr 7? Should I call out GPP now? At least ASUS didn't skimp their 3-fan Strix cooler.
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.mp4

I like it. Bigger the cooler, less work for fans. Im all about noise levels. But first need review that it will do its work
