MSI Outs AM4 Motherboard BIOS Updates with AGESA Combo 1.0.0.4 Patch B

MSI, the world leading gaming motherboard manufacturer, takes initiative to release BIOS updates for AMD motherboards. This latest AMD Combo PI version 1.0.0.4 Patch B (SMU v46.54) has a massive improvement at all points concerning debugs and optimization for the previous version. Specifically, optimized system boot up procedure allows users to shorten boot time and speed up the boot process. Compared to previous 1.0.0.3 version, the boot speed entering into BIOS is faster by 20%.

At the moment, the BIOS for X570 motherboards will be ready for users to download and update in the end of October. The updated BIOS version supports Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G running in X570 platform. On the other hand, it also supports RAID function including SATA- and NVMe-based drives for X570 motherboards. We are still working hard on other existing lineup of 300- and 400-series motherboard and will be released soon in November.

I finally updated my B450 Gaming Plus yesterday which includes AGESA 1.0.0.3ABBA. My Gaming Plus is one of the older ones with the smaller writable memory, so the interface is now "Lite" which I prefer anyway.

Good to see MSI pumping the updates out.

my mobo still does not have the update, really MSI should not be saying its ready to download on support page until it actually is...

edit: nm the picture in link actually does show middle of November release for the BIOS. bleh.

I would only update to v4 and I do have the same motherboard. I'm still using the 1.90 dated 07-05-2019 and as everything is working pretty good without any issues, I'm reluctant to update it.

I have another one (non MAX). But I downgraded to AGESA 1.0.0.3AB since in the latest bios, the OC profiles just dont work at all, and I have to clear CMOS every time a OC dont work or starts hanging at the CPU red light and never boots. Its annoying, but for this price and VRM I can take it a clear CMOS and load OC profile (if it works) once a month.

So the delay is currently 1-1,5 month for the older motherboards. Good that they are still actively supported.
I don't know why MSI is having so much trouble with the rom sizes, especially since other manufacturers are using the same small ROM chips.

Don't feel bad; still waiting for an update for my Asrock X370 Taichi as well.

Asus released a BIOS Update for x570 TUF Gaming MB, on October 22nd, but did not say which AGESA it has, just the info: improves stability.
Someone knows if this was the new Agesa, I did not check in HWinfo, as I am not on the machine right now.

Ryzen 1700X is now also booting on MSI X570 UNIFY with AGESA 1.0.0.4 (yesterday's new bios A10)

Unfortunately my boot times doubled to almost mid 40seconds. MSI did do some changes to some of the boot options from 1.0.0.3 ABBA so not sure how that effect things.

Are using a m2. SSD? Doesnt have to be windows on it to cause it, only a presence of it, will cause slower boot time.

No, 1.0.0.3 ABBA was booting at 18 to 19 seconds. 1.0.0.4 Patch B is booting at 48 to 51 seconds

You can update the BIOS with the Ryzen 5 1600 then swap the 1600 for the 2700. Just be patient for the first power on self test aka the monitor to display an image on the screen.

Updated my MSI X470 Gaming Plus to 1.0.0.4B, boot time (Power-on self-test) is much faster now, i'd say around half of what it used to be. Average CPU temperature is much lower now (idle down to 32-38º C, from 42-46º C).
