Our President may be ok with the Russian Govt but its people are not for either.
We're really not sure where we stand because Russia is the world's best Idiot whisperer.
I would correct the people part.
There are millions of events happening on the planet at any given time, majority of the US mass media focuses on one thing almost 24/7, disproportionately covering one subject, it makes an illusion as if "
everyone's talking about it" ... when this happens long enough, everyone then is so full of it that they all think it's the most important thing ever. Infact the media's only talking about it and the ones who fall for it will repeat it, most of it is just repeaters, usually the root source is AP or Reuters, most smaller medias simply get their scripts and briefings for the day at early morning, it's just like a bakery that get's its ingredients delivered in the morning and starts baking, just like a grocery store gets supplies in the morning, just as bakeries and sweet shops need to include ingredients which are the most manipulative and appealing but happen to also be toxic and not real foods, so does the media have to add their spices to make their news more attractive, what better way is to overexaggerate and twist things, or outright change the narrative that provides a more dramatic outcome, althought it has evolved to be ofcourse more dynamic as the old rotten media can't keep the act up with the competition from the internet and other independent sources, so they have to get bolder and bolder until it's clear that they basically move from a news source to an opinion source, depends on the media type and heavily depends on geolocation, some locations, particularly outside US they can still keep the act up, they have a certain rulebook which can be seen from space, I analyzed my national media over here, I know basically on top of my head which international story is going to be covered localy and which not, I keep guessing it right, something important happens in US congress, it will never get covered, something stupid get's said it's covered immediately, some russia accusation is the top news of the day, remains the top, and I know how these people operate, they see all the news because if it's an international news piece that's really favorable to their agenda they will post it in the most earliest hours of the day, otherwise if it's not so important they usually are a day or 2 late, the writers may write it, but they probably have a second layer of biased editors which prioritize what shows up on the site and when, the way articles get written, the tone of them, whenever there is something that benefits their narrative is has all the pictures all the text the article is really rich versus other articles, the TV side of things is like a kindergarden for 5 year olds, "
today sun is shining, tommorow will rain, the european union will expand, russia attacked syrian refugees, old granma baked some sugary cookies, good night" it's incredibly perfected propaganda tool, the way it pacifies the victim, makes it think simpler, brain sabotage. When the story is favorable to the leftist views the TV presenter overexaggerates their emotional expressions, which is part of the propaganda, emotions are the biggest vector for information warfare.
In the big operation to liberate Aleppo, the media sensation was huge, the anti-russian media was in overdrive, as the Russian military field hospitals and kitchens were being setup for the fleeing civilians who have been imprisoned in their own city, and get shelled by terrorist (external mercenary) mortar fire from the center of the city, the anti-russian media were quick to report that the russian attacked Allepo civilians and that the refugees were defending against them, all according to this one guy who lives in london with a little office called "The Syrian Observatory", did he help transport or provide any humanitarian aid, nope.
The alternate reality is just a way to get off the hook of having to answer for the accuracy, it can still be exploited for a real-world advantage, if it was "according to real events" they would get the eye of various historians and organizations, they would have been challenged, even legally, and boy corporations "love" the discovery process very much.
