"Top Tier M.2" - whodatiz ? would it really be that bad to specify the brand & model, so we could judge for ourselves ???
"Premium DDR4"- specs say 2666....pfff.....not really premium IMHO and again, no brand or model either....

This is primarily marketing speak. secondly, they dont list what brands/manufacturers because this changes CONSTANTLY based on supply - One batch of laptops could have Samsung SSDs and ram while the next batch could have crucial or WD SSDs paired with Corsair or Kingston RAM etc etc.

Its easier for them to say "Just know that its good" and leave it at that.

So long as the parts match what is being spec'd then there is no problem.

Memory is stuck at 2666 MHz because Intel's HM370 (which is basically the H370 chipset for mobile) limits it to that speed. Or they used strict JEDEC SODIMMs at 2666 MHz.

I'm not aware of what the enthusiast chipset is for mobile is, I'm not able to find a ZM370 or ZM390, so not sure what the i9-9980HK sits on.

This is Maingear's variant of that new, fancy Intel reference design, right? Have to say a laptop like this at 1.9kg is pretty nice. Reviews of other brands using the same chassis have been quite good too.

This feels like a new Clevo whitebook design that Maingear are selling.

I wish Clevo would stop putting ports at the back though. Ports belong on the sides, where you can see/access them, and hot air should go out the back, away from the user.
