i loved far cry 1. It was nuts for me playing with a Radeon 9700Pro.

I am waiting for good 32’’ 4K 100Hz or 120Hz monitor.
I could do without fast refresh (I don't really game anymore), but I'd like a good 32" 4k HDR600/1000 monitor instead.

We're both in for some waiting :D

This and next gen VR HMD.
I mean VIve is nice. But using it for coding and text processing all day is not fun due to the low resolution

This costs just as much as a brand new latest and greatest 55 inch OLED display WTF. LG's 48" OLED is expected to cost even less than that next year, which will be the BEST gaming monitor display for PC and console at a stupidly affordable price point.

Would be handy if one of its HDMI ports was ARC for audio passthrough but i see no mention of it anywhere. Might as well wait for the LG C10 OLED which will probably be out in late february if this year's C9 release date is anything to go by.

no display stream compression? that means that quality will be lowered if HDR is enabled, because chroma sub sampling will be required to use it at a high refresh. wait for DSC.

At 120Hz at 8bpc with HDR you have 4:4:4 with no image compression. Sure it's not 10 bit HDR (but it is processed on monitor side as such probably using some LUTs. But then again it's not losless i mean "visually losless by as judge by untrained people" image compression. DSC for now is a mystery to me on how that will affect image quality. stretching HDR on 8bpc is something i get and won't be a big issue.

Oleds for PC use.... you'd better prepare couple of them in a line for burn in.

Yeah for8 coding reverb might hit the spot with resolution but for prolonged use i think form factors will have to change significantly. I mean i could do over 10h stretches on rift it was comfy but that was with gaming and moving my head about not same consistent pressure in the same spot all the time.

Don't get me wrong i love OLED but for PC use with burn in issues it's a no-go for me. As a dedicated movie display ... sure as a multifunction PC display no... at least not yet. And while this won't have the contrast of OLED VA panels have significantly better static contrast ration to IPS. For me this display hits the spot with size , pixel density , refresh rate and HDR.

It will replace my dual display setup and will provide a better movie watching experience after work.
