There has always been something to be said about single-player experiences - most players just seem to prefer a strong single-player game to full-on multiplayer games. EA, LucasArts and Respawn Entertainment have now come out of the woodwork regarding the latest Star Wars release in the form of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen order, and it seems the game is shipping in no small amounts worldwide. The partners announced that this game has cemented itself as the fastest-selling digital launch for a Star Wars game in its first two weeks. And concurrently, EA has said this is the fastest selling PC-game for the company (in all distribution formats) in these same two weeks.

Of course, one needs to remember that fastest, highest-selling doesn't automatically make the game the most grossing Star Wars release. It's likely that Star Wars games with a more multiplayer-focused DNA (such as Battlefront I and Battlefront II from DICE) will gross more in their lifetime than Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ever will. That said, it goes to show what an original storytelling experience set in a beloved franchise can achieve. Read on after the break for the comments from all developing parties.

"On behalf of Respawn and EA, we thank everyone for their support of the studio and the team throughout the development and launch of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Telling a story in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true and the reception from the fans has been incredible. With the launch of the game, the debut of The Mandalorian and the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, it's a great time to be a Star Wars fan!"

Vince Zampella, Head of Respawn

"Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order demonstrates the amazing potential for original storytelling in Star Wars games. The close collaboration between Respawn and Lucasfilm is a perfect example of how we can deliver an experience for fans that is authentic to the stories and worlds they love, while also being an incredibly fun and innovative game. With the fantastic reception and launch so far, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has proven to be the must-play game this Holiday."

Respawn were the original group of developers who created and made Call of Duty a billion dollar franchise. Activision of course was pointlessly greedy and turned on them over a few lousy million dollars and so they left and created Respawn Entertainment. I'm extremely happy that they've managed to find success. Now if Blizzard would get a very public divorce from Activision and returned to the company they used to be many many years ago I'd call it a good year for PC gaming.

They were in the infinity ward right? I believe they did some CoDs back in the day, 2 and 4 for sure but i am not 100% on 3 and 5

They were Fired for borking Multiplayer on CoD MW2...Online play still suffers the consequences from that.
Who remembers FREE MAP PACKS brought to you "Global xGamingx Servers"? (example name)
Yeah....you don't see that shit on CoD anymore.

They made terrific single player games tho...I'm expecting this to be fun as f*ck!

Exactly. A growing number of players are losing interest in online gaming. Hopefully this will stand as an example that online experiences have a limited appeal.
As time marches on I find that I'm not so much less interested in online gaming, but I'd much rather play online with others in PvE like in a Destiny 2, as opposed to against others. Though I do prefer a rich and engrossing single-player game to a multi-player game.

In any case, I'm sure quite a few people here have already played it, but if you haven't I'd highly recommend picking up Respawn's Titanfall 2 and giving the single-player campaign a go. As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the better FPS campaigns in recent years. It's also only $4.99 on Origin/Amazon (redeems on Origin) right now.

I don't have any friends to do that with, so still single player for me... gg life

and yes I got titanfall 2 on launch, loved the single player, was a very awesome experience.

Lol. My friends don't play Destiny 2 either. I play with a bunch of randoms. It usually works out surprisingly well with everyone working together/reviving/etc.

Not much of a competition if you consider what the rest of the SW games were. POS that is Battlefront 1 and mediocre at launch, sense of pride and accomplishment, Battlefront 2. And a kinect dancing meme.

yeah the newest Battlefront just had this weird feeling to the aiming of guns, it felt so artificial to me, not sure why. maybe recoil was off or something.

pre-EA my all time fav star wars game is hands down Empire at War, the RTS genre one (I might have got the name wrong)

Outcast II was also decent if you happened to play it at launch.

What's that? I assume you don't mean Jedi Academy.

Anyway, have been looking at this game a bit and I'm extremely not interested. To me any game with "Jedi" in the title that isn't a proper RPG or a saber swinging fest (Outcast/Academy) just isn't a Jedi game. Gimme Kotor 3 (made by not Bioware) or Jedi Knight or gimme nothing. It's like The Force Unleashed, such sad games.

Ups and downs man, this statement only holds water until the next multiplayer killer app. And the two can live side by side as well.

Also, much like SP, MP games have diversified in a big way. Gaming, too. Stuff like Pokemon GO is MP gaming too ;)

I'm playing with Mouse and KB and it's very enjoyable. They are recommending controller because it's better suited for these types of games, but the PC controls are still good.

I enjoyed it while it lasted but the game lacked good loot 95% of the loot was pointless and made the game boring and don't get me started on the lightsaber upgrades.... the game needed a Diablo 3 type system where you could loot for things which added to your character rather than just boring poncho skins, having 4 player co-op or even 2 player wouldn't of broken the game.

the box are was most likely made before the game because there are a load of errors if you compare it to the game.

Gimme Kotor 3 (made by not Bioware)

I would love a KOTOR III
How about if the Developer of KOTOR II (Obsidian Entertainment) made a KOTOR III ?

That's actually what I was implying. Online multiplayer has limited appeal because of offline single player, which itself has limited appeal.

Nope, you got it right and I have to agree SW:EAW was and still is one of the best Star Wars games ever made!
