Store pages of AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT surfaced on Chinese retailer JD.com, confirming that AMD will launch the "XT" variant of the SKU very soon (by 12th December, according to these listings). While the product pages don't list out specifications, they confirm a wide launch through AMD add-in-board (AIB) partners covering non-reference designs, and include 8 GB variants. The 8 GB variant starts at roughly RMB ¥1,499 including taxes, which converts to roughly USD $212. You reserve your card by paying ¥100 ($14) upfront. Among the listings are two cards from Sapphire, one from Yeston, and one from XFX. The product pages confirm three dates: pre-orders starting today (5th December) in which you pay the ¥100 deposit and drop your hat in, order confirmation and shipping on 12th December upon payment of the balance, and earliest delivery by 15th December, depending on where you live in China.

Actually on the website they stated that if you pre-order you would get an additional discount of 100 RMB. So the resulting price would be 1399 RMB, which is around 199 USD.

1499 Yuan ~ 192,- Euros, seems a bit expensive for RX 580 perf.
1339 Y ~ 179,- Euros with preorder discount, is a lot more likely, with even lower prices a bit later.

The RX 5600 (XT) will probably be a cut down Navi10, if so, a 6G card will eventually have 48ROP and only 3/4 the arrays, leading to 1920 Cores.
But a 8G card will probably have all 4 arrays and 256 Cores less (2048) than a RX 5700(2304).
There are many options, we will see wich way AMD chose.

If they want to sell almost the same preformance from 2-3 years ago, just slightly cheaper, then thank you, but no thank you.

So companies should ONLY ever release GPUs more powerful then their last flagship?

They could release GPU's like Apple does iPhone. Release a new High End every year or two (one for high performance and one power efficient) with the midtier being last gens high end the lower tier being two generations old. It would make things less confusing as there would only be 2 options released each time and 6 options to consider from low to high end.

Not much to glean from this... Knowing where a RX 5500 is and this is an XT with 8Gb where it might land I think we wait to to see what this provides for a MSRP.

I would consider it would be above the RX 590 and it's more than a GTX 1660 (with 2Gb less memory) that's now 8 months in market has hardly dropped below $190. Against a Super such 5500 XT could nip at like 5-7% behind, while I'd say Nvidia will hold that pricing at $230-240. If AMD/RGT sticks a $200 MSRP on this it will be in a strong position considering the "price hiking" were are living in.

Well it's faster than a RX 560 XT

So there's that...

Except that's not how things work, a vast number of these chips will also go into notebooks which is a huge market for AMD given their struggles against Nvidia.

No, i'm not saying that, Polaris was "only" midrange, in price and in performance, and yet i'm not seeing cards with increased price/performance ratio in this price segment.

380(x) was released at 2015, 470/480 was released at 2016, 380->480 was a bigger leap and only 1 year apart, now it is the end of 2019, 3 years later, and barely see noticeable performance improvement in this price range.

Actually the RX580 8GB was $230 and consumed much more power in default. And now you even get a game for the RX 5500 at launch. I know, you also get it for an RX580 (and got 2 of Division 2/DMC5/RE 2 at the previous promotion), but you didn't get any games with the RX570/580 at their launch.
