Martiantec Martian 104 Prototype Keyboard is Bold Both in Form and Function

A new find this CES 2020 is Martiantec, a new tech entrant that wants to reinvent the keyboard and mouse as we know it. Their eyeball magnet is what they call the "Martian 104 prototype keyboard" (a working title). Its design involves the physical compartmentalization of every key into interconnected nodes that make up a mesh. The keycap surrounds each node.

This design ensures that no dirt accumulates between keys over time. The Martian 104 comes in several glossy, bright colors. Under the hood(s), this membrane keyboard uses a single piece fiberglass PCB that's been heavily perforated. Each key in this otherwise standard 104-key QWERTY keyset is re-programmable. Martiantec also showed us a prototype wireless mouse, with little else to go off aside from the images below.

Perhaps they could make a sturdy tray to keep it in, with adjustable back feet.... so you could move it around without breaking it. And that tray would just cost $59.99... lol.

It's a fun design, kind of reminds me of those rubbery roll up keyboards you could get a few years back (they used on in a Die Hard film too )

Typing angle isn't taken care of, and the mouse doesn't look very ergonomic, then again people buy pretty products and go see a doctor about RSI later

MAXIMUM NOPE on that 'mouse'. Stupidest POS I've seen in a good long while, and I see utterly stupid stuff on the regular.

This and it looks like everyone agrees.

The mouse is clearly form over function. The keyboard though, is a really interesting idea that does NOT lose on function. Its also a nice way to reduce height, I think. If they go mechanical and especially scissor switch with this... yummy

Keyboard gets a thumbs up!

The mouse....nah!! Unless it's built to hover above the desk surface and the top knob when turned clockwise magically converts my gtx 1070 to a RTX 2080 TI.

i forgot to mention... the cut-out keyboard solves a real problem (dust/debris), hence a winner in my opinion. I can see this going a long way with other manufacturers too and when the price is right and quality is satisfying, i'll bag one.
