AMD today released a new version of their Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition drivers. Version 20.1.4 Beta adds support for Warcraft III: Reforged, with increased performance by up to 11% in some scenarios. Support for "Journey to the Savage Planet" has also been added.

Fixed issues include corruption issues on Red Dead Redemption 2 under Vulkan; crashes on Vulkan-based games when performing a task switch while Radeon Image Sharpening is enabled; system hangs or black screens in GTA V at launch, missing audio in Radeon ReLive recordings, and Integer Scaling not being shown in some Windows 7 hardware configurations. Look after the break for other details of this release. You can grab the drivers from the link below.

DOWNLOAD: AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 20.1.4 Beta

Fixed Issues
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 may experience square or blocky textures on some terrain during gameplay when using Vulkan API.
  • Some Vulkan API games may experience a crash or application hang when performing a task switch while Radeon Image Sharpening is enabled.
  • Text overflow is observed in toast messages for some languages.
  • Radeon ReLive may fail to switch recording to desktop when Radeon Software is open.
  • Grand Theft Auto 5 may experience a system hang or black screen at launch, when opening Radeon Overlay while in game, or after performing a task switch while in game.
  • Audio may intermittently be missing from Radeon ReLive recordings near the end of recorded clips.
  • Integer Scaling option is not showing up or available on some Windows 7 system configurations.

Known Issues
  • A loss of display with working audio may be experienced on a limited number of displays when performing a mode change on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products.
  • A system crash or hang may occur when running the Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers benchmark.
  • Integer Scaling may cause some video content to show flicker when the display resolution is set to less than native resolution.
  • Multiple games may have very dark or very bright graphics in game when HDR is enabled in Windows.
  • Radeon Anti-Lag enable and disable beep notifications may be played in error when individually pressing keys assigned to the hotkey.
  • The Radeon Software Overlay hotkey notification may sometimes be displayed during video playback in web browsers or launching some video player applications.
  • Radeon Software may open with an inconsistent size or may not keep its previously set size when opened.
  • Some Radeon RX 5700 series graphics users may intermittently experience a black screen while gaming or on desktop. A potential temporary workaround is disabling hardware acceleration in applications running in the background such as web browsers or Discord.

Footnotes
RS-331, Testing conducted by AMD Performance Labs as of January 23, 2020 using a test system comprising of Intel Core i9-9900K CPU (3.6GHz), 16GB DDR4-3200MHz memory, the Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card and Windows 10 x64 with Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.1.4, and 20.1.3. PC manufacturers may vary configurations, yielding different results. Playing World of Warcraft III: Reforged at high presets on the Radeon RX 5700 XT, with Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.1.4 scored 234.9 FPS while 20.1.3 scored 211.1 FPS, showing an 11% uplift driver over driver.

At least they try hard to fix issues. 4 drivers in 4 weeks in January is an impressive feat me thinks. Let's hope they will fix the rest of the issues soon enough for the bigger and more expensive GPUs to have a great launch as the GPU market needs competition in the higher performance tiers too. As for my case, the previous driver is almost perfectly working (just once when resuming the pc from sleep, the screen didn't turn on).

It's interesting there is no listing for a known issue for voltages/overclocking settings to reset every time you reboot the computer; this has been an issue for me on R VII since the 20 series drivers launched. It's not really broken per se, just a nuisance to have to remember at each boot; it's easily solved by restricting the max voltage in MPT, but it would be nice for it to keep the voltages, memory clock, and power level on a reboot.

custom settings were retained in the program but not applied after reboot. With this driver its been resolved for me on my Red Devil 5700.

Neat, I was going to install them today anyways; hopefully I'll have the same results.

What you're saying , I think it's dangerous.let's say Your windows gets BSOD and next reboot , you might get black screen.this happened to me (old driver) and i couldn't log into Windows due to Black screen (because of too much OC) and card refused to run, so I had to go Safe mode and do DDU & reinstall driver. But thankfully AMD later Fixed this issue and now I can do OC and not worry about getting permanent Black Screen.

If the Radeon driver crashes, that is the default behavior, to reset settings for the reboot; so that's already in place as a fail-safe. It shouldn't be the default behavior on normal reboots.

No, the software fails to load profiles sometimes, overclocking or not.

Have they fixed the freesync not working on some monitors yet at above 120hz? I know this was a big problem early on.

Looks like it worked for me also on my R VII; memory clock and gpu voltage now stick on reboots.

The stupid control panel keeps repeatedly opening in the background in seemingly random way. Does anyone know what can I do to stop that?

This is the funny thing... I too have the same issue on 20.1.1 driver not saving my custom power curve. It's fixed on 20.1.2, broke again on 20.1.3, now it's fixed again on 20.1.4. Maybe I have to use DDU to take off everything and reinstall again.

Wait for the bios to be decided.

At that point we could wait for RDNA2 based stuff or possibly go team green again to get Ampere...

I get an instant crash when I run Direct X 12 in Unreal engine 4.24 on Radeon VII. It works ok when I only run DirectX 11.
