XIGMATEK Rolls Out WindpowerPRO CPU Cooler

XIGMATEK over the weekend rolled out the WindpowerPRO CPU cooler. This tower-type air cooler is characterized by its top plate that has RGB LED embellishments, and a pair of included 120 mm fans meant for push-pull airflow through the heatsink. The business end of this cooler consists of a tower-type aluminium fin-stack heatsink with anodized black fins to which heat is conveyed by six 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes that make direct contact with the CPU at the base.

A single 3-pin addressable-RGB connection handles lighting for all three elements (the two fans and the heatsink's top-plate). The company also includes a 4-pin PWM fan header splitter, in case your motherboard lacks two 4-pin fan headers near its CPU socket. The two included XIGMATEK Galaxy II Pro ARGB fans each spin between 800 to 1,800 RPM, pushing up to 58.5 CFM of air, with a noise output of up to 25.3 dBA. The fans feature 50,000-hour rated hydro dynamic bearings. With its top-plate and fans in place, the XIGMATEK WindpowerPRO measures 110 mm x 125 mm x 157 mm (LxWxH). The company rates its thermal capacity at 200 W. Among the CPU socket types supported are AM4, LGA115x, and LGA2066. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Once again, heatpipes are too close too each other. Coanda effect and everything, the inner halves of those pipes will get minimal airflow.

"copper heat pipes that make direct contact with the CPU at the base" AKA we are cutting cost by removing the base plate but we are going to spin it as better performance because we know you the customer has yet to figure out only the cheap coolers use direct contact heatpipes and every top of the line cooler uses a flat base.

I know it's only a silly render, probably a phoned-in submission by some underpaid intern - but the flat direct-contact heatpipes just look like a bunch of copper strips that have been badly glued onto the round heatpipes.

I'm used to the renders looking better than the finished product. In this case, I sorely hope XIGMATEK puts more effort into the design than their product renders.
