CHIEFTEC Announces the Scorpion 3 and Hawk Gaming Cases

CHIEFTEC, a world-wide renowned brand for reliable PC chassis and power supplies, today announces two remarkable models to their gaming-chassis line. The Scorpion 3 (GL-03B-OP) furthers the legacy of the highly-successful gaming Scorpion-series by adding 4x pre-installed +5V A-RGB Rainbow fans and slide-to-open side door features. Along with Scorpion 3, CHIEFTEC also announces the revised HAWK (AL-02B-TG-OP), upgraded with tempered glass side panel as special edition.

Scorpion 3 (GL-03B-OP, ATX), the new iteration of the Scorpion-series upgrades with 4x preinstalled A-RGB Rainbow fans from our Tornado fan set. Each fan is furnished with shock-absorbing and anti-vibration rubbers and special fan blades design, which guarantee a whisper-quiet operation. Thanks for the certified control box (DF-908) and an RF remote control, the color modes and fan speed can be easily controlled via the buttons on the control box or the remote control. Fur more personalized illumination experience, all conventional 3 PIN +5V A-RGB motherboard technologies such as ASUS AURA, ASRock RGB Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, and Gigabyte RGB FUSION are supported.



An additional upgrade is the innovative slide-to-open mechanism with thumbscrews in the back for easy installation. Removable dust filters on top and bottom of the case are designed for fast and convenient cleaning. Cooling options include 1x 120 mm rear fan, up to 3x 120 mm front fans or 240 mm radiator in the front and 2x 120 mm top fans or 240 mm radiator.

All dust filters are pre-installed into the front-panel air inlets as well as the PSU air intake, ensuring that the system remains dust-free and clean. Hawk is basically a twin brother of my AL-01B-OP, but with all the fixes that I've complained about: mainly adding vents on both sides of the front panel.
And a glass side panel, which I don't care much about.
Decent case, but desperately needs some sort of sound proofing.

It's not top-of-the-line(which they do have as well), but more oriented towards "best bang for the buck" auditory.
Using AL-01B-OP for over a year now and so far I have only few minor complaints.
So far it handles my R5 1600X slightly overclocked under 240mm AIO, and is totally ready for 3950x upgrade as soon as the price falls to the right level.
Airflow is good enough after adding an exhaust fan (dropped VRM temps by over 10C at full load), PSU intake keeps my Seasonic in passive mode most of the time, and GPU never hits above 80C even on the hottest summer day w/o AC.
Best $50 I ever spent.
Chieftec ain't going anywhere any time soon.

Lol, has Chieftec ever made a reliable power supply?

They might not be "top-of-the-line" in terms of spec, but recent models have quite adequate build quality, decent performance, and this time a real 80+ certification. Just a boring Sirtec or CWT, only with slightly better parts and QA comparing to, let's say, entry level Zalman or abysmal Aerocool in the same price segment.
There are still many Chieftec fanboys where I'm from. If you ask the same question in CIS region - you'll be cannibalized by a crowd of angry bearded sweater-wearing swearing sysadmins.

One of the longest-delayed projects on my bucket list is "modernizing" a DX01w full-tower by replacing the entire front-panel I/O, and adding some wire management features.
I still have my >15y.o. Dragon blasting away as workstation/DB server at my 2nd workplace (no mods, unfortunately).
