Microsoft has pulled the curtains on a limited edition Xbox One X console, which will feature a customized color scheme to go in hand with the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. Inspired by the cyberpunk aesthetic and neon lights of Night City, the new Xbox One X console sports a mainly gunmetal gray and yellow color scheme. The console also features a blue LED status light, glow-in-the dark decals, laser etchings to the chassis, and customized panels. The controller has also seen a change in coloring and decals, and is customized according to the in-game color scheme that best characterizes the iconic Johnny Silverhand, aka Keanu Reeves in-game.

The limited edition, custom Xbox One X will be available starting from June, which is more than three months ahead of the actual games' release, pegged for September 17th. However, this makes sense in more ways than one: Microsoft avoids introducing a new Xbox One X console so close to the expected launch of their next-generation Xbox Series X (due sometime in Holiday 2020), and gives users who are actually looking for a games console from the current generation to take the plunge towards this exquisitely-detailed version of the Xbox One X. The Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X will ship with an included digital copy of the game, which likely means a redemption code to be used closer to the games' release date.

I'd like if that controller could be bought separately.

Timing is less than ideal with the new XBOX coming out like 3-4 months later?

Considering Cyberpunk's original release was April 16th, a special edition would have made sense. Now that it was already planned and manufactured, better to release them and sell a few than sell none at all.

Holy crap... Cyberpunk hype in full effect.

This game better be really good, as it stands now... *takes sip from Cyberpunk mug*

DO YOU SELL ADVERTISEMENT !? ARE YOU READY !? TO PAY FOR AN ADVERTISING PRODUCT !? A commercial prank that has been serving well lately to made profit on advertising product , instead of splitting free for commercial puprposes , and they even hope to sell it expensively ! YAP !
Customer humiliation has no boundaries lately ! Many are so blind ! It must be COV19. side effect or is already normal that you are being humiliated and robbed at the same time .

lack of confidence in RDNA2 DXR perf confirmed
call it baseless but all of the DXR code in the wild was developped for turing. not only does amd have to enter a new segment but it also has %0 of the codebase in it. RDNA2 turing DXR at best, watch ampere cream it

Starting to be a bit too much hype and too much merch. Usually doesnt mean anything good.

Coming Soon. :)

The controller looks okay, the console looks awful.

wtf is wrong with these comments? It's just a special edition of a console XD

It's called an opinion and some people have them.
And I'm not saying anything about you or liking or not this console, look 2 comments above yours. Wtf that even means and why go mental about a limited edition of a product.

I think he is referring to this:

Which has nothing to do with this topic.

Even if the new generation of consoles would have been released when this comes out, then what? Not everyone adopts the a new console since day one.

DXR code is the same (at least for DXR 1.0) regardless of the GPU that is running it.

CD Projekt Red already announced next gen versions of cyberpunk 2077 are going to be TBA... so my guess i summer or later 2021, so playing cyberpunk 2077 on xbox one x will be no diff than on xbox series x

also, these names are terrible. typing all that was horrid.

Why would anyone buy a Xbox One X when the next gen Xbox console is right around the corner?

Right around the corner is several months, which is a very long time for those that want to game out now.

Also, just like sports cars, some of the best Special Editions come out at the end of the product life.

I really want one of those controllers, looks cool. I already use xb1 controller for most adventure games and platformers. Though honestly I think I would feel a bit ridiculous playing Cyberpunk 2077 with my Cyberpunk 2077 controller, haha.

As far as the marketing goes, I kind of get it. Cyberpunk and CDPR already have those fandoms that pretty much want to consume those things in thier entirety. So doing stuff like this works. It doesn't work for everything, or even most things. When it goes well, you know there is a thriving core fanbase. Many try this wide-branding thing and you never hear about it because nobody cares and nobody buys it. Cyberpunk is far-reaching with it and they just keep going... so, yeah. People are super down with it. People care about this stuff, so they buy it up, just to have it. I don't think it's a matter of suggestion or brainlessness, considering anyone that's not a hardcore fan kind of rolls their eyes. Meanwhile for the people who were already familiar with the Cyberpunk universe and like CDPR's other projects, this is a surefire want, should they be interested in picking up a console.

It's just always been a thing for a lot of fandoms. The call of the swag is strong. Imagine a product. If it hasn't been made with [insert fandom] theme, that's a problem for them! Personally I've never been one of those people to just take something in its entirety like that, but I can't exactly knock it. If people eat this shit up and they're happy about it, cool. I just hope the money goes into improving the main product. For better and worse, hype is what it is. I think some people genuinely just enjoy the ride of 'being there'.

If you wait enough time, these special editions can sell for quite high price if you don't open them.

Or just you buy it because you like it. I would buy it if I had enough money to spend on something I don't need, I like the design.

Would like to see some proper journalism, the original source video is from the XBOX youtube account and not the repost bot that is IGN.

I think alongside the swag factor your explanation of fandom a few weeks (days, months, whatever...starting to lose track :D) ago applies here, too... people want 'the thing' but they can't have it yet, or all the time, so they get stuff that comes close or pulls them into the dream world a little bit.
