According to the latest report from our colleges over at TweakTown, Rockstar is working hard on its next-generation Grand Theft Auto game, precisely the 6th installment of it. Reportedly, Rockstar has been working on GTA 6 since 2014 and has invested a lot of resources into it. Being that GTA V launched in September of 2013, it seems like Rockstar has quickly started to work on the "next big thing". And big it will be (words of Master Yoda). On the contrary to previous reports that Rockstar will build a world for the next-generation game on a moderately-sized map, the latest information we have suggests that GTA 6 will be based on a "gigantic beast-sized map" as its base. This is exciting news for everyone excited to explore the open-world of GTA while completing missions and having fun.

it better be filled with stuff to do, lately almost every single open world game has been suffering from the "huge empty world" meme

100% Amen to that, i was just about to comment the same thing.
A small map with plenty of activity will always be better than a wasteland.
GTAV's map is amazing, but absolutely barren. We need stuff to do!

There weren't that many in V even compared to IV. Though both don't come even close to SA.

The whole huge map 'At Launch'... that is a major deal breaker and I already know I'm going to stay away. Do you mean to tell me this is somehow a good thing, to have the whole map at launch? What? So what you're actually telling us is: 'we will get your cash in other ways, but at least you get the whole map'... Others have already figured out too the map we get will be a wasteland.

I am hard passing on this weird MMO-ish approach to a single player game. GTA V was the same. Offline play got no attention and online was an MTX fest. And yes, the SP part was good... but also very limited. The real sandbox didn't really exist anymore unless you went online.

NOTY. I'm glad I enjoyed the GTA vibe in the pre GTA V days, so much so that the formula got pretty old to me.

There weren't that many in V even compared to IV. Though both don't come even close to SA.

SA was amazing. The whole gang war thing... hours and hours of fun. World felt alive, cars could be pimped, some casual gym visits for good measure. Yeah. Thug life, the way its meant to be played.

Yes I think SA is the benchmark for GTA series. None of the game released after ever come close. With what Rockstar did to V I don't think I'll be buying VI unless it's on huge sale.

GTA are supposed to be packed with content for SP. When MP is the focus it will become dumpster fire with cheater/hackers and became a huge problems for casual gamer just wanted to have fun. I remember being chopped in the head by helicoper blade right after spawn in SAMP. Also there is a 'service' where you can PAY real money to have decent amount of money (in GTA V) in my local facebook gaming group (like $2 for 1 million in-game currency)

GTAV's map is amazing, but absolutely barren. We need stuff to do!

I think R* at times has done pretty clever moves with DLC and missions that came with it to take place in areas you normally dont get to, I hope they continue that trend in the next game for sure.
And I hope the Single Player and Multi Player are closer together, I hate we dont have animals in MP as well as a much smaller selection of cars on the road.
Eh.... frankly I could write 3 pages worth of stuff that would make GTA5 better.....

GTA IV was the first and only GTA game I've ever played. Had it for the PS3, got it for PC but then discovered my lappy at the time couldn't play it, lol. I loved that game.

I don't recall Yoda at any point saying "big it will be" and I watched every one of the Star Wars films several times over.

Also, is this really news? Every GTA game ever made has had a huge open-world map.

If they make it as "realistic" as RDRII, gameplay will be very painful.

The main problem with GTA5 is that the online version got all the attention. Single player hasn't seen any changes for years.
Single player is even more frustrating when you've still got to download all the (online-only) updates and the game crashes if the mods aren't updated.

I haven't been a GTA fan since they released GTA3 - everything since has been pretty crummy. I tried playing GTA5 that was gifted to me, but it wasn't very interesting.....drive around, do some mission, blah, blah, blah. I didn't enjoy the multiplayer aspect of the game either. I know a lot of people did and still do, but it's not to my liking.

If they introduced an interlinking story with two protagonists that would allow co-op play of the story, I think that would be a good thing to get me to buy a copy of GTA6. I tend to enjoy playing more games co-op over single player.

One main character would start in one part of town and go through a few missions on their own.
The other main character would start in another part of the game world and do a few missions.
Eventually their paths cross as the story unfolds and you team up from there to complete the story.

Don't worry about it right now, it will be a while before it is released and even longer before the PC version is available.

In GTA VI everybody is in isolation at home, as a virus called COVID21 is "killing" 0.02% of the NPC. Our protagonist is unemployed and watches pr0n and Youtube from his basement. The End.
PS:
All i want is a remake of GTA: Vice City, is that too much to ask for ?

Not a chance, Proposition 208 will have passed and medicinal cocaine will have been legalized - no way there'll be any health issues in VI
