GIGABYTE AORUS Z490 Motherboard Lineup Leaked, PCIe Gen 4 Readiness Included

Pure vaporware, very old IBM move to stale sale of competitor products.

For gods sake, what is the point of releasing "a PCIe 4.0 ready motherboard" that requires new CPU's with a new LGA socket ? Nobody even knows when that CPU line supporting PCIe 4.0 will arrive.

See the post above yours, the next CPU for this socket will support PCIe 4.0 for the CPU lanes.
Yeah, I totally missed the Rocket Lake part of the post. Still, why not wait for the inevitable Z590 if you want a Rocket Lake and PCIe Gen4. I can't the imagine the market for people that upgrade their CPU on a yearly basis is significant either. I guess I could see it on the Master/Extreme, maaaybe the Ultra, otherwise most people will end up paying for a feature they won't ever be able to use.

Well, these are going to be just are pricey as the MSI boards that the pricing leaked for.

Vision will replace Designaire.

no, there will be designaire z490, as the toppest model of ud series and it is above the vision.
z390 gaming sli is gonna to be replaced by vision z490.

and the chart is wrong, almost every gigabyte z490 got intel 2.5g lan, as it is pointed by intel for z490 chipset. eg the z490 aorus pro ax has 2.5g intel lan.

I guess Intel fans will start seeing value in PCIe 4.0 support pretty soon.
yeah as this feature costs consumers much more than before.

or vision d=designaire

It's an Eagle... :D

Malformed pigeon with a forearm and animated fist growing from it's neck. :D

If only it wasn't for that ugly pigeon stamped across all the boards. The better the board the bigger the pigeon. Yuck

LOL, ROG does the same thing, the more you spend the larger logo you acquire. lol :p

Here, this slide below is basically showing the pricelist by the size of the ROG EYE (Apex board being the possible exception).

As I said, Vision is replacing Designare as the brand name.

The chart is from VideoCardz, not TPU, so take it for what it is.

FYI, I used to work with Chris over at VR-Zone many moons ago.

The point is that we won't see a repeat of the B450/X470 situation where people complained that it should work, but AMD decided not to support it, as not all boards were up to snuff. With these boards, you're hopefully guaranteed to get PCIe 4.0 support when the new CPUs arrive.

Seems like a lot of the partner boards on z490 are pretty beefy power wise and feature wise. Some have only 2.5GbE, etc...

Almost no word about H470. :/
this will come later.... as is par for the course. I believe it is H460 as well...
Ever heard of Intel's tick-tock?
I have. But it refers to their new arch and a die shrink cadence (that they've long stopped following)... it has nothing to do with motherboards.

Get a different brand or a board in their lineup that doesn't hav eit.

Well, Rocket Lake later in 2020 is rumoured to have the PCIe 4.0 support.

Rocket Lake + Ampere = fastest gaming combo. I’m in!

Not true, Rocket Lake will no longer be Ring bus, it will be Mesh which is much slower for gaming, and Ampere is HPC.

Gaming will be Ryzen 4000 (Vermeer) + Navi 2X gaming king :)

Only time will tell, gentlemen.

That said, I'd bet good money says Navi 2x won't beat Ampre's consumer flagship....

so, only Z490 & not-so-soon 11th Gen Core CPUs will only be viable to make use of PCIe Gen4. Sure. I'll stick with AMD's B550 & Ryzen 3rd gen processors for the same feature set but at much more affordable levels.

Ahem...It's not a pigeon. It's a screaming chicken. Get your birbs right :D

And pigeons, by definition, aren't even really birbs. They're more like flying rats. :fear:
