Mushkin introduces Safe & Protect Packaging (SPP)

The world's renowned brand of performance RAM, Mushkin, has launched a new packaging design called Safe and Protect Packaging (SPP). The SPP is a smartly designed black plastic casing enveloped in a cardboard sleeve. Mushkin is the first in the world to introduce an alternative packaging form, away from the conventional blister pack.

The new SPP format will store RAM safely and firmly with its strong plastic case, reinforced with a thick cardboard sleeve. The plastic case is made with anti-static material to serve as an extra protection. This packaging is expected to enhance its product stand-out on retail shelves as well as perfectly matching to its brand image.

Aside from the safe and protect properties, the SPP is able to contain various types of Mushkin memory modules (DIMM and/or SO-DIMM) and it can also hold up to 6 pcs of RAM (4 DIMMs & 2 SO-DIMMs) as well as an instruction leaflet. The packaging also comes with a CD/DVD slot.

"At Mushkin, we always strive to do things differently and provide more to consumers. This SPP is the first of its kind in the RAM market and will benefit both retailers and consumers. Apart from this, we will continue to innovate and develop new products to bring more to our consumers," said Mr. Zikria "Saki" Hoffmann, general manager of Mushkin Europe.

And the best news is - this really cool packaging design comes to consumers with any Mushkin RAM products at no additional costs.

This is great if you like to buy RAM just to store it. Otherwise it is pretty useless.

Ever bought crucial? that comes in a cardboard box and anti-static bags...not a blister pack...

But woo...I buy memory, it goes in my PC...when I'm done with it, it goes in to another PC or the bin (depending on condition). So it's nothing special tbh.

ooooo ... it's like one of the main vendors that support our web site ... lets bash it some more .. :nutkick: I think it looks better and has a reuse instead of the cheap plastic packing you get with most ... that you have to toss after you open it .. some of us do have memory just laying around and this does help protect them .... meh but it's not anything super but it does give us a chance to support those that support us .. :toast:

It sure in the hell beats a stupid blister pack. I think it's a great idea since alot of ram gets damaged during shipping. Mushkin is top quality stuff, why not put it in high quality packaging that you are more likely to save than throw out?

What a useless story - have you ever seen the fancy plexiglass slide-open case that GEiL uses for it's sticks (or at least used to)? It's bulletproof!

Edit: ok, not a useless story, but close.

Hey wait, I hadn't realised TPU was biased toward sponsors and cash for recommendations! :wtf:

not bias ... and certainly we can be objective .. it's the constant negative posts that serve no purpose... it's just a memory case and no reason to bash it ... I wanted some members to realize that there are those that do help support us ... so an objective remark is considerate .. but don't bash it because you can ...

I like the idea of a reusable protective case......I hate blister packs

At least this way the RAM will be safe if you decide to re-sell or RMA it ;)
