Give me a sec while I yawn. Nothing is exiting coming form AMD graphic ever since they acquire ATI. 10+ year ago.
HBM was really exciting... until the reviews came out!

Agreed 100%, I really think AMD will make it's highest end GPU lineup in time before CP2077, Ampere is already promised to. AMD knows they will lose a lot of market share if they don't come to bat for that.
Is really anything promised beyond AMD saying "big Navi" is coming this year?
Has Nvidia promised anything at all?

I think both companies are planning to release something this fall, but what do we actually know?
Just remember times in the past like when "everyone" claimed 5 GHz Zen 2 were arriving at CES 2019, which were completely untrue.

Yes, Nvidia officially announced Ampere is coming in September. You need to watch tech news more.

I think I read more than a healthy dose of tech news, but I certainly can miss a detail.
I did catch that Nvidia said related consumer products were coming "later", but not any commitment. Do you care to link me to the official announcement of consumer Ampere in September?

Can't seem to find the article now, but I swore I read it was official May 14th when Jensen Huang pulled out the data center Ampere from his oven in his house. lol

All I can find now are rumors though, but both know CP2077 will create a lot of new builds, and it will be 2 year anniversary of rtx 20 series... so I have a strong strong feeling we will at least get the 3080 ti and 3080, possibly 3070.

looks like you are correct only rumors, I swear I read it somewhere though :/

Yeah Nvidia haven't really said anything regarding consumer Ampere cards, but again... cards like the RTX 2080 Ti will be two years old come September, so they presumably can't be too far away.

Yeah, it looks like many will build a computer for that game, perhaps even if they will not end up playing it, kind of like Crysis back in the day? :p

I sure hope that a family of 3080 Ti/3080/3070/3060 is coming this fall, it would be a really nice time for many to upgrade. And even though Nvidia is running a tight ship, there is usually a spike in substantive leaks in the 1-2 months leading up to a release, so if something is coming in September, we should see something fairly soon. But then again, it could just be a Titan…

I still expect we will see Big Navi in time for CP2077. they have the CPU world locked down pretty good these days, I am certain they moved a lot of push towards gpu side of things in recent months. the good ol' one two punch make the stockholders happy :D

I hope that doesn't mean it will be a paper launch.
Well, I guess it would be fitting, as that game would probably be out of beta in March 2021 ;)

none of the launches would be sold out if Amazon/Newegg, etc made it limit 1 per customer on mobo and cpu and gpu purchases. but they always made it limit 2 or 3, and that gets abused with different addresses from re-sellers etc. even just doubling it from limit 1 to 2 drastically helps to abuse that take place in the third party markets. sadly capitalism doesn't care about us gamers, and the third party assholes just get full refunds if they don't sell them at marked up prices within 30 days. paper launches wouldn't even exist if the manufacturers placed limits/pressure on Amazon/Newegg to make it Limit 1 for everything on launch days for big new items, which I am 100% in favor of. if you want crossfire or sli, or you want 2 because your wife wants a new build, either wait 2-4 more weeks for your limit 1 to expire, or call up a buddy and have them get it for you. ez pz.

I honestly don't think that's as much of a problem as you make it out to be.
Both Turing and Pascal moved shipped numbers in their first two months of sales, millions of cards, despite being "sold out" everywhere, and I don't think this was mostly "assholes" buying the majority to resell at a premium. I think we have to accept that demand is simply higher than supply for a while, and most of us can wait 2-4 weeks!

A card that is a paper launch is a much bigger problem.

all well and good, but it still needs to be limit 1, I believe they are doing limit 1 now in some cases.

Most people actually leave their gpus stock for some reason, gpuz knows when you OC and I get all the validation results for the gpudb. It's actually interesting xD
gpu-z wouldnt know if i was doing a 2202mhz record run or running 2025mhz stock

I disagree. Enthusiast gpu prices are ludicrous and it's all amd's fault for not competing in that segment. The only card I'd consider buying right now is the 5700xt (for it's price/performance) and it's not a very exciting card.
