The recently announced Phillips 272B1G monitor features a 27 inch IPS 1080P screen, with a 4 ms (Grey to Grey) response time, 250 nits brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 76% NTSC/98% sRGB coverage. The IPS panel allows for wide viewing angles of 178º (H)/178º (V) and comes with an anti-glare, 3H, Haze 25% coating.

The monitor includes several energy-saving features such as PowerSensor and LightSensor along with a "Super-energy-efficient" design. PowerSensor uses an infrared sensor to detect the presence of a user and can automatically reduce screen brightness in the case of absence reducing power draw up to 70% while increasing monitor lifespan. The LightSensor feature uses a smart sensor to adjust the screen brightness depending on the light conditions in the room.

The monitor features an Energy Star 8.0 certification and an A++ energy grade thanks to its internal power supply which was chosen for its high efficiency paired with the low power W-LED backlight system. The rear of the monitor also includes a "0 watt hard switch" which cuts all power to the monitor resulting in zero power consumption.

The monitor features a healthy selection of I/O including HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2, DVI-D, and VGA (only HDMI & DisplayPort support 75Hz operation). The monitor comes with a pair of 2W speakers along with audio passthrough capability for easy access, also included is a four-port USB 3.2 hub with one fast charge B.C 1.2 port. The included SmartErgoBase allows for 150 mm height adjustment, ±90º pivot, ±180º swivel, and tilt (-5º-35º). The monitor also features a 100x100 VESA mount for custom mounting.

I love how Philips is integrating windows hello compliant webcameras in a lot of their monitors, so I was a bit dissapointed to see this one doesn't have it. Seeing how the options for windows hello webcams is very limited, still (not even microsoft makes one. most options are either hugely expensive or from noname chinese makers) it's a great differentiator and selling point to put one on a monitor.
