A new set of absolutely stunning 4K Ultrawide screenshots for Death Stranding have been released, which showcase just how good the game will look on its best rendition yet - in none other platform than the PC, of course. The PS4 version of the game is beautiful, mind you - but the PS4 Pro can't render the game in true 4K, and framerate is slightly less than ideal around 30 FPS with some dips down under. As such the PC version, with our more powerful hardware and (especially for NVIDIA users) backed by DLSS 2.0, is bound to be the best place to play the game.

The game will be released on July 14th after a small delay to account for the work-from-home requirements amidst the (still ongoing) pandemic. The game will be using Denuvo's anti-tamper technology, and will be the first appearance of the Decima engine (which also power Horizon Zero Dawn) on PC. Look after the break for additional screenshots (warning: some mobile data usage right there) and the full PC requirements (likely on a 1080p/High Settings baseline)

Is it capped at 60 fps? I want that 144hz smoothness bb

intels ivy 4/8 vs 6/12 ryzen
nvidia's 1060 vs 590

how is that "console to pc masterplan" working out ?

I think first gen Ryzen more or less equal to Ivy Bridge. I agree on GPU requirements though, they are a little bit off.

on ipc maybe they're close
but it's +50% more cores
for 30 fps requirements are 4/4 haswell and 4/8 ryzen too

I know little about this game but what's with the half-life logo and the head crab?

Day one if not Denuvo virus. :(

Bonus mission reward and cosmetic.

It’s a current gen game, what were you expecting to be different?

Game runs on a potato Jaguar on a ps4 at 1080p30 without any upscaling tricks or image reconstruction.

Now if only they could make the game good.

It's not a fast paced game, it was built for 30fps

that doesn't matter, even playing a card game like Hearthstone is a nicer experience at 144 fps 144hz, switching between that and 60hz, the smoothness of the card draws, plays, etc. its just much nicer at high refresh. everything is improved by high refresh doesn't matter the game, outside of some indie games like sidescrollers Dead Cells, etc. those are fine at 30 or 60 fps.

Well then skip this one, I guess?

"A new set of absolutely stunning 4K Ultrawide screenshots for Death Stranding have been released"

Hang on, if "1080p Ultrawide" = 2560x1080 and "1440p Ultrawide" = 3440x1440, then surely "4K Ultrawide" should be 5040x2160 and not 3840x2160 letterboxed down to an odd 3840x1645?

I'm glad there is so much game action in WINTER scenes - because that game being launched in the summer, with the HQ GPU and CPU requirements, and no doubt OCing to get the best gameplay, is going to make for a NOISY HOT ROOM, so all that virtual screen candy cold will help us to cope...

BTW did not like to Half-life screenshots. Those graphics of the headcrab look like Shiny Doom Plastic. And, it brought back old memories of GPU struggle and stutter. It was a bad marketing call. They should have put the HL bonus into a fluid video. To experience HL graphics in a way we have never seen before. (Except perhaps for people today with their new top end machines loading up old HL binaries)

Codex Edition won't :D

Due to the new versions of Denuvo being more complex you need to be veeeeeery patient for a "codex version".

Or, you could give a rat's ass and move on?

Official sys requirements are often dumb. That 1050 Ti - RX 570 pair is exceptionally funny. RX 570 is 40+ % faster than a 1050 Ti.

Requirements for HZD are fairly similar:
  • Minimum:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bits
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K@3.3GHz or AMD FX 6300@3.5GHz
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (3 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB)
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 100 GB available space

  • Recommended:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bits
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K@3.5GHz or Ryzen 5 1500X@3.5GHz
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB)
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 100 GB available space

Strange how good a game made for last generation can be, despite being made to run well on the generation it was made for isn't it.

Good results at 4K >60 fps for RTX 2080 Super and RTX 2080 Ti. Better with AIB OC editions.

The game also has AMD FXFIDELITY CAS
