Lenovo Enhances Portfolio of Education Solutions

Today, Lenovo, is announcing updates to its portfolio of education solutions to support schools adopting new curriculums and pedagogy as they head back to class in the Fall during the global health crisis. More than 1 billion students, over 90 percent of the world's learners, have been impacted by school closures in 2020i. In response to disrupted school calendars, educators are implementing distancing learning programs and hybrid learning scenarios - a combination of distance and in-classroom learning. Schools and districts require education-ready devices, more secure platforms, as well as compelling and effective digital content to engage students under changing learning conditions. Idk why but that image of school children gives me chills as someone who left school just 10 years ago. Could be amazing for the kids but from the outside, it just looks like some weird dystopian future we're living in lol.

It just means you are old and starting to refuse technology. I am sure folks before your generation would say the same thing to you at kids age hunking over a CRT and playing pin ball.

Ahaha try working in one! Just fyi, they start on tablets in 2nd grade. Same time they start playing with the robots.

At least if the kids are wearing HMDs that makes it easy to sneak up behind them and smack them over the head.

Kids gotta get familiar with the tools of the times. As a parent you can either resist it and hope for the best, or take a more involved approach. Cant just cross your arms and say "Not MY kids." Try too hard to keep them safe and they wont know how to deal with danger when youre no longer there all of the time.

Theres nothing wrong with the devices themselves. I think its probably okay, even at a young age. They will benefit the same way they would from being taught to use appliances and such. The problems come when these devices become the surrogate parent. I think a well-informed parent would do well to familiarize their kids with modern devices. Theyre very useful... pretty much basic life tools now. Higher proficiency is good. Teach em good habits while theyre still spongey.

My big issue is more with social media. Social media platforms arent the safest places for adults, let alone kids. They mess with a persons psychology too much. But then what future generations need most is the guidance to navigate it in a healthy way, because we never had it and thats really messed us up.

Thats the thing, right? Its something theyre going to be exposed to. They cant learn to do it in a healthy way if theyre completely kept away. Thats just problems later. Easier to address when theyre younger. By the tweens its too late.
