If I were going to go 21:9 it would only be for a 38in 3840x1600 panel, I really don't like the 1440 vertical resolution,TBH, It just feels too constricted for everything else you use a monitor for apart from gaming.

This model has actually been selling in China for a few months now.
My friend got one for around $330 shipped on sale, can't really argue with that price. At least it is price accordingly.
I take this over all the "IPS-like" rubbish around this price point any day.
Yes a proper LG IPS panel is much better but those costed almost 3x as much on launch.

1500R users enjoy gamma correctness down to 82cm distance from the display. 1000R brings color matching down to 58cm. You can notice the visual field gain from near positioning.

I'm aware that the quality of the panel in the G7 is awesome, I've seen it. For me, it's the curve that's killing it, as I work in ui/ux.
There's a bunch of new non-curved IPS screens coming in the next few months, I'll probably end up with one of those.

Last time I tried an AOC display I found it did not support 1080I. Interlace was not known to the device.
That was surprising to me, I'd thought that kind of thing was standard supported these days.
It's always the one thing you take for granted that is missing, same with smartphones and smart TV's and such, you come across something that you can't understand isn't part of the standard package, support for Exfat on USB sticks for instance, or NTFS on android, all that kind of things you don't think about until you need it for some reason and then discover it's not there.
Or how about some Samsung phones that have OTG issues and don't deliver power on their USB or don't have OTG at all. So weird to see that.

AOC is great. Don't discount it, just look for thr premium models. I can safely state it has less fussy va than Samsung. Superb performance. I can provide the model, some review I saw on prad.de just floored the response times.
